Very good, but i'm afraid the operators will be bribed to keep mum about where some of the loaded trucks would end up. More agencies like the EFCC should be created to monitor corruption specifically in that sector. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

This is like a case of putting the cart before the horse. This is a country without working institutions. Where any and everything goes. Someone will bypass the meters and nothing will happen. This is an exercise in futility unless the metering would be manned and monitored by a foreign company not affiliated in any way to our politicians. 6 Likes |

Hope it's not an inflated contract because even after installation they will tell masses different thing while the meter will record different thing too |

Hope the meters are live transmiters of readings But again should the oil companies not be the one doing this Is this not part of production? 3 Likes 1 Share |

For decades I've been clamouring against unmetered oil exploration. Right from the time the Dutch, Italian and British oil Giants set foot into Nigeria, they have been exploring our oil without any form of measurement. All the politicians kept quiet because they all benefit from it. The governors of oil producing states knows about it but they prefer to keep quiet. 2 Likes |

Without metering how have we been measuring our oil export all these years? Reality is that no 3rd World oil producing country can be allowed to measure their oil cause it will disrupt global economy that depends on mostly free crude from developing countries. This attempt will be resisted by them using unconventional means. |
