I thought I replied this... her timeline is same as mine. I have significant travel history and a valid US Visa. She does not have as such (Seychelles, UAE, Singapore) and infact was denied US visa a month before submission in Dec and again in Feb after submission. |

Ashirioluwa: Thanks a lot. I was looking out for your comment in particular. Done the webform a few days back and worried if it is okay to submit this peculiar case by courier (I am in PortHarcourt and flights to Abuja where I did biometrics for submission will only be if absolutely necessary). Does any one have a recent duration for their deliveries as waiting for the new passport has put me in a tight corner? |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ashirioluwa: 12:42pm On Jul 12 |
erudite37: You can do the submission by courier instead of traveling to Abuja, and budget about 2 weeks for the turnaround process for passport delivery and return. |

Good morning house. Pls I was denied Canada tourist visa Feb this year and I'd like to reapply now. I have biometrics already, just want to know if that's going to speed up the processing time unlike those that are just going for biometrics or it's still the same processing time. Thanks |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ashirioluwa: 3:37am On Jul 13 |
Paulo01: Nope, your application will still fall under the normal processing time, which is currently 191 days, but you may be fortunate enough to get it earlier. 1 Like |

Please I need advise, I submitted my application on Dec 28 and I haven't gotten a decision. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ashirioluwa: 10:31am On Jul 13 |
Ihategirls: Submit your passport right there in the US. Once you receive a passport submission notice, you can submit your passport anywhere in the world, regardless of where you applied and completed your biometrics for a Canadian visa. 1 Like |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ihategirls(m): 12:38pm On Jul 13 |
Thank you all for your inputs Another thing is that, I heard if you submit 10 year’s passport, you’ll be issued a 10 years visa Omooo. Is it not better I go do a new passport like this ? Because my current one expires in 3 years time and that means they will give me 3 years visa |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by affoncad: 2:17pm On Jul 13 |
Ihategirls: You currently in usa and you think it fast to get nigeeria passport, when ur current passport still valid for 3 yerars and you have 30 days to submit ur passport for stamping ! |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ashirioluwa: 2:18pm On Jul 13 |
Ihategirls: The validity of your passport and biometrics will determine how long your visa is going to be valid for; however, the biometrics' validity will take precedence over the passport. If you want your visa to be valid for 10 years, then both your passport and biometrics must be valid for 10 years. What this means is that you can’t get a visa beyond the validity of the biometrics you have on file with the IRCC. If your biometrics are valid for 2 years and your passport is valid for 10 years, you will only get a 2-year visa. There are some rare cases where applicants got visas with less validity even though both their passports and biometrics had longer validity. |

Ashirioluwa: I hope u don't mean that first time applicants with passport validity of 10years will automatically get 10years visa |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ihategirls(m): 2:46pm On Jul 13 |
Ashirioluwa:my biometrics is valid for 10 years My passport is valid for 3 years |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ashirioluwa: 3:43pm On Jul 13 |
Ihategirls: Obtaining a passport with a 10-year validity is advisable in this case. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Ashirioluwa: 4:04pm On Jul 13 |
noeloge82: Regardless of whether the applicant is a first-time or frequent traveler, if his or her application is approved, he will receive a 10-year visa if both his biometrics and passport are valid for ten years. But there were a few instances where some applicants got visas with short validity even though they qualified for the 10-year maximum. 1 Like |

Ihategirls: I hope you are aware that having a 2,3 or 10-year visit visa does not mean you can stay in Canada for 2,3 or 10 years as a tourist. The maximum stay at any given time is 6 months or less, depending on what the border officer decides. An extension for another 6 months is possible, but it is not automatic and may diminish your chances of returning to Canada in the future. 2 Likes |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by noeloge82(m): 5:34pm On Jul 13 |
Ashirioluwa: I wouldn't like to say you are not saying the truth but the fact is that visa duration is not solely dependent on your international passport, the only concrete theory here is that your visa can not exceed your passport validity and if your passport is less than 6months you may not be issued a visa on same passport the vo will request u submit a new passport but for 10years its not in any canadian website or recognised by any CBS authority as a must, but if you have where this law is stated I will be glad to see and learn Thank you 2 Likes |

Hi all, I wanted to confirm something that my friend just brought to my attention. I applied for Visitor visa for Spouse and since his passport is 10 years, I was expecting them to give him 10 years and 5 years each for our two kids. But we were all given 2 years which is the duration of the two year Diploma program. Is it normal? Or there is an error that we need to contact IRCC about |
