Good morning Guys.

Please I need solid recommendations on good/durable tyres to buy (whether Toks or brank new). Location is Abuja pls. Thanks

Car tire size : 195/65r15 91v
Also can I buy a size slightly higher than this to help raise my honda civic a bit, cuz the ground clearance is quite low?

Buy brand new only if you're buying premium tyres.
If considering china tyres, buy toks instead

My 2006 Toyota Camry i4 has a shudder with the following characteristics:
1. Vibrations start at around 50m/hr or 80km/hr.
2. Happens only on light throttle.
3. It goes away if I let off the throttle or press Down and it shifts to a lower gear.
4. Only happens after 5th gear when the rpm drops below 2000.

My suspicion is a faulty torque converter for the following reasons:
1. If I turn off Over Drive, limiting the transmission to 4 gears it never vibrates.
2. I’ve dropped the pan, cleaned and actually flushed the transmission fluid with T-IV. And it made no difference; so I know it’s not a fluid issue.
3. My tires are new and balanced
4. Car runs smoothly at same speed it usually vibrates when I turn off OD.
5. My engine mounts and shafts are tight with no clucks when I engage drive or reverse.

Please gurus am I on the right track? Your contributions will be greatly appreciated! If I am on the right track, how do I know a good replacement TC?

Good evening my gurus in the house,
I really appreciate the effort of everyone trying to assist or help on matters that relate to our cars. Also to deliver us from the evil hands of Kazeems! cool

Please, my issue is that anytime my car battery is disconnected and reconnected my RX300, 2001 model, will be idling very low and even dies off when I apply the brake. It often an embarrassing experience due to constant restarting of the car at the middle of the road or traffic.

It normally stop this madness after like 45mins or so of driving nonstop.

I don't think this is normal, what can I do to fast track this re learning of the ECU.

Thanks in anticipation. Kudos to you guys.

It's a reliable car but not the most fuel efficient 4 cylinder out there. If you're fine with the fuel economy, fire down

Everybody keep telling you not go for that Accord with 2.4L, e get reason because you will get premium regret in your profit.
Kindly consider other vehicle make with 2.0 engine below. Eg
Nissan Sentra
Peugeot 306
Opel Zafira
Toyota corolla
VW Golf MK 4
ETC

You surely can do an upgrade on tyre size for better ground clearance. I drive a civic as well so I understand first hand your concerns. Worst off when you live in an area plagued with bad roads.
I upgraded mine to 205/60/r16 alloy rims. I opted for the aluminium alloy rims to reduce the weight as iron rims are quite heavy.

Good afternoon Guys
I want to sell off my 2006 corolla to buy a foreign used Corolla 2011 S, what and what should I be mindful of during inspection as well as regular maintenance?
Also, can I use 5w30 or 10w30 oil as against 0w20 or 5w20 seeing the current price of synthetic oils
Any suggestions and advice is welcome

Thanks sir, I will check. Pls what could be responsible for clicking sounding like a bunch of key by the front right suspension although a mechanic earlier told me that shock absorber is weak, but I did a paint work on that front right fender of the car before this sound comes on whenever the tire rolls on uneven road surface.
Also, what can be responsible for the left side stabilizer linkage cutting or not being effective, fake part or structural defect of the chasis?

Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by Nomerci: 10:31am On Jul 26
Your linkage bushings are either bad or torn....check it.also check ball joints.

I remembered last year when I was in a very tight fix I decided to run Bolt for sometime to raise some bucks. All the money I made went to fueling. I just stopped it. That car 2.4L variant gulps fuel and it’s not good for e hailing at all. Get a civic or a 2.0L Accord.

P0301 cylinder one misfire
Either bad Iginition coil
Spark plug
Dirty injector
Or bad ecu aka brain box as you already have a brain box code.

P0171 system too lean bank 1
This can be a bad 02sensore need to be check first

P0218 coolant temperature below regulating
No engine thermostat installed or the thermostat is stuck open.

P0012 CMP
First need to check if the engine timing is correct.
The intake oil conteol valve (OCV actuator) might be bad if you timing is correct.

P0607 ECM
Ecm aka brain box might be bad and can be the reason for all this codes if it bad
My suggestion get another ecm to test if all the codes will come back or not.
