The Ogun State Police Command said that it had discovered the shallow graves of 71-year-old farmer Adekunle Ifelaja and Ogunyemi Femi, who were allegedly killed by suspected kidnappers in the Ijebu-Igbo area of Ogun State.

This follows the arrest of two members of a seven-person criminal gang, Chukwuma Bartholomew and Igwe Monday, who are believed to be responsible for the abductions and murders of the victims.

The state command spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, informed our correspondent on Saturday that the arrest occurred just five days after the anti-kidnapping squad killed two suspected kidnappers in a gunfight and rescued several victims, including Indian nationals.

Regarding the exhumation of the deceased’s bodies, Odutola stated that the suspects, after confessing to the crime during interrogation, led the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, and the anti-kidnapping squad to the forest in Ijebu-Igbo.

She said, “They are responsible for kidnappings and abductions that have been recorded in the Ijebu-Igbo area. They kidnapped their victims, demanded ransom from their family members, and then killed them.

“They then took them to a forest in Ijebu-Igbo, where they dug a shallow grave and buried them. They were arrested by our anti-kidnapping squad after a thorough investigation, which led the team to the hideouts of the criminals on June 28, 2024, in Ijebu-Igbo.

“After their confession, the suspects took the CP and members of the anti-kidnapping units to the forest where they buried the victims to exhume the corpses.”

Shame on all the South West political leaders and the so called leaders for not taking meaningful action about the so called ritualist from the region..

For how long would those idiots continue to be disgracing the region while we have the so called leaders.

Modified: To those saying did I read the news? Please do I need to wait for another ritualists threads before doing the ranting on what have been disgracing the region for decades.

Mind you kidnapping is global but ritualist is not. It's just too shameful to be reading such from SW in this century

This is bad. Was it not just last week that ten of them were killed by the Ikeja police command in Lagos for kidnapping around the Alaba axis. These are the people driving crime rate up in the SW.

This is a sad news.

When a Yoruba guy was killed by some Hausa guys in Lagos, Igbos were wailing on nairaland, calling Yorubas names for not going on rampage against Hausas in Lagos.

https://www.nairaland.com/8132257/lagos-killers-use-okada-run

Lets see if they will ask Yorubas in Ogun to start killing their fellow Igbo brothers and sisters because of the crime of two Igbo guys.

Our Governors in the south west needs to do more on insecurity issue, it's now getting out of hand. The two guys gang members must be fish out and dealt with
I remember. I don't even think it was up to a month ago.

Hmmmm afas has taught them this oooo. Please they should desist. Again they should check to see their state of origin. Seriously suspecting Ebonyi

Why do SE people like yourself love accusing Ebonyi people of bad things. To people not from your region. Anambra will be the first pick.

I know they will blame their lies deceit and incompetence on our brothers and neigbours. I know they will make it look like it is our brothers and dear neigbours are responsible for the killings, kidnapping all over Nigeria.

I know they will move the propaganda to the frontpage Page to fuel more tribalism, hate, bigotry, nepotism against our neigbours. I also know they will use these propaganda against our brothers to divert the attention of Nigerians from the failures of the mandate thief.

I know that they have been blaming the Igbos for the failures of Nigeria since the British "gave " Nigeria her " independence ".

Our brothers are the reason there is terrorism like fulani herdsmen masquerading as bandits, iswap, bokoharam. Our neigbours are responsible for the poverty, Inflation, unemployment, devaluation of the naira, Blackout, corruption etc

If you are a failure in your own responsibilities in life because of your hatred envy and jealousy in life, just pass the blame on our brothers fröm the East.

If Nigeria want to see more development, security,, peace, and others, you know what to do as a hater, just blame our dear brothers and neigbours.

If you snatch, grab and run away with what is obviously greater than your capacity to do what is right or wrong, when the realities of your actions speaks and reeks of cluelessness, incompetence and rascality, just pass tge blame on the Igbos.

It seems like Nigeria will never move forward but only backward because of our brothers. Our neigbours are the reason insecurity langersehnte and grow worst in Nigeria.

Look at the thread to see our brothers as the problems caused by crooks of APC buhari and Tinubu. Early on a sunday morning, bolded etc.

This thread is not to find any solutions to the insecurity problems caused by the chanters of sai baba and builders of Lagos but to divert attention from the failures and daftness of Tinubu using tribalism grin grin grin

Apparently, a number of kidnappings attributed to the Fulanis may be perpetrated by other people, and in some cases, involving even community leaders.

Thank God there are lots of igbos in Ijebu igbo, Ijebu ode, Ago-iwoye, Oru, Awa etc let's see if they will ask Yorubas to start killing their brothers and sisters because of the crime of two cruel Igbo men.

Check their states of origin first. There has been argument here that some persons bear Igbo names to commit crime. Let's use this as a case study.

This is evil!

Until police starts tracking phone calls successfully, many kidnapped victims won't make it alive.

Kidnapping is one of the crimes that can be easily solved. The criminals must make a phone call. Na to create ministry of livestock be their priority, no political will to track these demons.

Lol. A guy from Abia was caught about 6 weeks ago by the Lagos police command. He was using a SW name to commit crimes.

Most times it's usually the other way round. Outsiders may bear names of the locals and even learn the language(s) in order to blend in, then later perpetrate various crimes or offences.

I travelled to Abeokuta last month and nearly died from starvation. The reason I nearly starved to death was because I refused to step out of my hotel room for fear of being skull-mined. I would rather starve to death than to allow afonjaskies mine my rich skull

Most crimes in the West have outsiders behind the scene. A few youths have turned themselves to willing tools in the hands of these wicked people.

The day SW decides to fight kidnappers headlong, many Igbos will be killed.

When kidnappers were killed in Lagos last week, several Igbos were crying and criticizing the Police. In fact, that animal called Simon Ekpa said they were killing Biafrans.

The kidnappers in the East have come to the West. They won't go back alive and this will be achieved by whatever means.
