The shooter at Trump's rally has just made it even more likely that Trump is going to be the next US president. And now AP is reporting that the shooter has been killed/ neutralised.

Smh...you don't defeat far right rhetoric with violence- you're just playing into their hands.
This is the sorry state of American politics. Since they can’t jail him why not shoot him 🤔
I’m glad he survived and can’t wait for him to win come November even though I don’t dig him.

I'm beginning to query how food items being imported from Nigeria are preserved. I bought a bag of red beans almost a month ago which I just opened now. No weevils and I can smell sniper. Is there any body like NAFDAC here? They really need to know about this as I don't trust our people.

Interesting observation. I’m not sure if there is any quality control as per the above mentioned foodstuffs. I usually boil for 20mins and drain the water then add fresh water and cook. God help us

One of the few writeups I read states that extremely boiling of beans doesn't remove sniper added. Shockingly, importation of beans from Nigeria to EU was banned from 2013 until 2023, not sure if this has been lifted though as the article I read didn't say so. Wify confirmed that there was a period of time she couldn't find beans to buy.

Same thing we observed while we purchased beans imported from Nigeria. We have moved to beans imported from our friendly English neighbour and it seems to be better with no crazy smell even thought we still par boil for some minutes.

Do you mind sharing the package so we search for it too? Really deflated that our people prefer profit to the death of their fellow humans.

He was republican. He was only 20 therefore he was 12 in 2016. All he has ever known is MAGA chaos.

Thoughts and prayers to Trump and his family. Will he be supporting gun control henceforth?

Also why did he pop back to raise a fist? Presenting a lovely target for a headshot?who does that? Not very smart 😕 #baffling

I had heard something about beans imports from Nigeria being banned. Not sure if it's been lifted.

I'm confused though, don't they sell beans in the UK especially in Asian/African shops? Why risk your health when you're not sure of the quality?

Apparently he donated to Biden's campaign...I'm sure more details will be revealed leaked about his political leanings prior to the shooting.

It's crazy how close Trump came to being killed, and sad that a civilian was a casualty. This will only reinforce his hero/saviour/ "chosen one" image to his followers.

The memes have started already. They'll definitely be trying to pin this on the Dems.

Yes there's definitely no place for political violence in a democracy. That's what voting is there for. Use your X and not your fists/weapons.

You're right, I think the world needs to start bracing for Trump 2.0 "This time it's personal" 😂

Hehe.. You've taken it upon yourself at each point to expose the generosity of the UK immigration system. Its like telling apartheid SA to accept the generosity because indigenous groups elsewhere saw worse. In a race to the bottom, there are no shortage of nations who treat migrants worse to compare with.

Also remember the better nations. I from the comfort of my home in the UK applied for and was given a Canadian PR - same thing that took me 5 years of good behaviour and taxation to achieve in the UK. What's strinking is that CAN is a wealthier nation per head with better growth potential. Ultimately, migration is a game of need, not generosity

The question is why didn't you go straight to Canada from Nigeria?

Just like a fresh graduate that was finding it hard to land a first job, a company saw his potentials, gave him a job and built his skills for five years, only for other companies to start giving him opportunity afterwards.

UK saw your potentials and gave you opportunity to develop it. Five years later and Canada is just seeing the skills. Your gratitude should be to UK, not Canada.

The beans was bought from an African shop in Barking. I don't think the ban has been lifted so I keep wondering how it still finds its way here. No more beans till further notice anyways.

Ah okay, yes best to stay away. Some of these Asian and African shops can be dodgy/non compliant. E.g. A few have been busted for illegally selling skin lightening creams that had been banned due to hydroquinone and other harmful substances.

Some supermarkets sell beans I think? In the world food aisles? Hopefully these products would have been vetted. You could also perhaps try red lentils as a substitute? Very cheap and it's got a similar legume/beans taste.

Made me wonder too @popping back to raise his fist. Almost makes me think the whole thing was stage managed. A report by a witness said the shooter was spotted by himself and friends 50 feet away and they shouted this information to cops nearby who appeared confused for 2 to mins before shots were eventually fired.

I finally passed my practical driving test at the 3rd try smiley. Failing twice was quite humbling but I’m glad I finally crossed the hurdle.

Here’s my tip for anyone struggling to pass; apart from taking driving lessons, binge watch mock test on YouTube channels like DGN driving and Clearview driving. Watch videos of people that fail and take note of their serious faults so you can avoid them and learn to drive safely.

That said which cars would you recommend that costs less than 3k?

I’m not looking to spend much on a vehicle for now.

Thank you so much for that not-so-little suggestion. Turns out it’s a win-win for everyone. Thank you Jedisco.

Kudos... at the very least, you've made their week.

Yes I read in daily mail that he donated to Biden campaign at some point.

Just wondering though how that ear is still standing after being hit by bullet.

Good question. I didn't go down answering it before as I didn't want to belabour the issue. I chose the UK for other reasons - major one being a better troden path.

The express Can entry pathway is pretty straightforward with no preference to country of origin/residence. You get points for your degree and a few others. The time I've spent in the UK didn't add any advantage rather points dropped as I got older. Fact is, the main reason I was still able to get it despite being older was because they recently made a pathway for healthcare workers which still buttresses this issue as a game of need. Oddly, while I was in 9ja, I was convincing a colleague to follow me on the UK pathway and he was looking to convince me to go the Can route with him. After all this, he almost relocated here once but I'm likely now headed to his province. My UK training should count when I get there but not at entry.

Not to becloud facts, the UK has been an immense blessing to me which is a main reason I've held on to collect my British kpali. The time of my arrival was pivotal in benefiting hugely from the need the government was looking to fill but ultimately like the father of modern economics said, ‘ It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages.’.

Not much info @the bolded perhaps Ford focus, but ultimately, try and avoid cars that'd see you frequent the mechanic. 'Parts and labour' no be here.

I have to agree with you on that, the shooter just made the whole thing even more difficult for Biden.

Democrat will be blamed for his especially as the shooter was killed.

All that said. I'm happy for Trump and other republicans gun loving people. Trump is having a test of situation he created, he loves and encourages violence on others while his lapdogs do the dirty job. The dude is tasting the food he cooked.

Do you mind clarifying how exactly?
