Creating more local government area is far better than creating new states
A lot of the current states need to be scrapped before all of that. It has been almost 30 years since the last state creation exercise. Many of those new states as well as the original ones were carved out are nothing to write home about. undecided

You are very wrong! State creation does not better the lot of the people. The last state exercise happened almost 30 years ago. Did you know that almost 99% of all the states created, as well as those they were created from, are today among the poorest of states in the nation? undecided

Nigerians need to call for states to be merged back to their original positions before the 1996-97 creation of the most recent states. And then go from there to figure out a better way forward. undecided

same.people have properties in all state capitals and no one is saying regionalism will forbid ownership of properties by citizens from other regions.

So after he explained perfectly well, why the SouthEast/Nigeria does not need additional state, you are still talking of balancing.

Didn't you read his write up?

As far as i am concerned, regional system of government is what we need at this critical time, let every region go and manage their resources.

Truly we need restructuring but the first restructuring we need is that of mind.
Untill the power is shifted from these so called dealers named leaders, restructuring will birth more evil for some states if not all.
When there's restructuring of minds then the dealers will be sent away irrespective of what they use as bait

In Lagos I live, they still try their best

In some other states, Governors just give them small change out of what they are entitled to

Regional Government my arse! Nigerians once had that but do you know why they did not fight to retain it when push came to shove? Because it did not benefit them then as the narrative would have you believe today, and, the same problems of corruption and criminality plagued the system even then. So, why in the world do you think going back to that which the people never even bothered to fight to keep makes sense? undecided

The south east hold over 90% of the entire country's natural gas reserve yet untapped. Do you know what that means
Re: "Most States are not viable": Agbakoba seeks return to regional Government by DMerciful(m): 5:46pm On Jul 14
Nope, Gowon killed it with decree 14 and 15.

Gowon ran regional govt for almost a yr before dividing the 4 regions to 12 states in 1967

So long as the Nigerian people refuse to engage their own government, nothing will ever work. You find a local government where the electorates place themselves as watchmen over affairs at that level and you will find a local government that works better than any other. But where in Nigeria do you find that? undecided

Which corruption and criminality?

Oga go back to history, and study how the Nigerian state was faring, under regional government.

Then compare it to the democracy of today, where every state is lazy and depends on the federal government to run their state.
