Kobojunkie:Fight to keep wetin? You wan fight Military? Military rule isn’t a civilian style that you can just go on the road to start a protest or something - nah straight shoot on sight! It was Ironsi that abolished our Regional system. Those that tried to talk were killed or sent to jail.. Nigeria under regionalism did well more than this federalism.. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Dshocker:Stop trying to rewrite history abeg! Corruption and criminality did not magically appear from nowhere at some point in time. Get real! What you see in your democracy today is the result of having a country where the people rarely engage in their government. Democracy is meant to be a government of the people by the people. However, Nigerians adopted a backseat approach to their own democracy, and what you see is just the result of that. Simple! |

EmeeNaka: Are we bound to apron strings of the north? The north does not even want any other region to emerge president or you think if they had their way Tinubu will be president? It’s not about what they want or what’s best for them but it’s about what is best for the entire country. The most poorest and insecure states are in the north so should we fold our hands and continue to dance to their tune until every state in the country become bankrupt? 2 Likes |

He made a lot of sense here a new state in the south east will only empower politicians who will occupy political offices not the ordinary masses. Regional govts would have been the best for nigeria but the core fulani north won't agree to it because of the huge oil and gas deposits in the niger delta which they all heavily depends on for survival. 2 Likes |

Nigeria can never be great until we go back to smaller units by means of REGIONAL GOVERNMENT. Let each region solve their own problem by themselves. There will be good competition among the regions. If we stay under this Federalism then hunger will continue to bite harder until Jesus come back. 1 Like |

EmeeNaka: The north is no longer monolithic like in the past, there are cracks within them who are not hardliners, that’s where the opportunity lies to have a decentralised government but surprisingly there are elements in the south who are also against restructuring for fears one doesn’t really understand. Look at the issue of LG autonomy have you not seen politicians in the south speaking against it? It shows some of our issues should not even be blamed on the north alone. Perhaps we can have a referendum vote on restructuring and if it doesn’t pass then we should be ready to live with the consequences of having bankrupt states all over the country. By then not even a bloody revolution will save the country. 2 Likes |

nairalanda1:Mr man you just wrote rubbish. During regional government there was competitions amongst regions thereby bringing massive development and enlightenment. The north that agitated and took us to federalism though they are still covertly practicing feudalism, didn't want anything to do with development, that was why they brought about quota system in the first place, because they couldn't compete. It was during regional government that we had many indindigenous companies and some foreign companies, where are they today? And mind you Gowon was just a fulani puppet that they used to capture Nigeria. 1 Like |
