You might need to recheck your source.

It's easy to make the semantic mistake.
Open is when anyone can vote in the primary.
Closed is when potential voters have to be registered members of the party conducting the primary.

my bad... I conflicted some things.
There's no need switching registration in open primaries.

Are you still manifesting these posts from the Bronx?
Why does this thread attract so many NUTS who pretend to live in the US?

Laurene:
Bla Bla Bla! I have nothing to prove to you... You started bragging about sending me 100,000 naira that's why I had to promise gifting you 600,000 instead.
Do you even know what defamation is? How did I ever defame her?
I don't blame you lots over there, you guys behave like tyrants and have totalitarian tendencies... Your kind of leaders can attest to that.
I can give you my home address and postal code here in Bronx... Here isn't 3rd world shithole dictatorship bubble... There's freedom of expression, I guess you'll never know 😅...

I find the psychology of people lying about living in the US so interesting.

Laurene:

Besides you can't compare American with Nigerian elections... Never!
....
As a Nigerian, I care less about who wins US elections. They'll always work for their people unlike here in Nigeria where everybody is bought over even the judiciary.

You should worry more about starving to death, insecurities, etc in your own country.
Regardless, Trump and Biden's generation would continue to flourish. How about yours?

Do you ever hear yourself. Do you think your life is normal? You spend your life here (you are here day and night), posting about Muslim hate and the UK in an American Politics Thread. The kicker you don't live in the US or the UK. Is that normal? And so, you lie about being in the US because you know you sound Nuts doing so.

The $15 dollar donation wouldn't tell much either.
Say you buy say a T shirt for 35 dollars that says Vote on it as a gift for someone from an organization connected to a Political Group or Campaign, part of that purchase price may be in the form of a donation and would list the same way.
It doesn't mean you intended to donate to that group or are aligned with their philosophy, you just wanted the shirt or whatever.
Many possibilities for the donation.

Again, facts will come out.

I saw a man who cares more about showmanship than he cared about the lives of the people who just risked their lives saving his. They had no idea if there was a 2nd or 3rd shooter. And if you watch the clip as he tried to break free to do his fist pump, agents put their arms and heads in front of his, to protect him, willing to take a bullet for him, if there was a 2nd shooter.
I saw a man who cares more about showmanship than a man who cared about getting the situation under control and making sure everyone else around him was ok.

Someone died and 2 people were critically wounded, who probably couldn't get help because the Secret Service most likely shut everything down trying to get him to safety, while he instead wanted to "campaign".
It solidified in my mind that is not a man I want anywhere near the White House.

Why do you want the politician to do the job of the police force. Is there any politician who doesn't add showmanship to their strategy...

that was not campaigning, that was showing resilience, I am still standing even as they put a bullet through me. what you saw was a historical moment, a show of leadership.

Na.. That was clearly campaign... 😁 😁 Resilience would have gotten him killed....

Good showmanship though.. Remarkable use of the opportunity..

A real leader does. In fact the President is the head of the Executive Branch which enforces the Law.
Someone died. The shooter had explosives in his car.
The secret service had no idea what came next.
Not the time for showmanship.
The more I think about it, it's obscene. Someone is dying behind him and he's pumpin his fists in the air looking for his shoes.

I don't see any other President doing that.
That is Trump's brand, showmanship over everything else.
Not a good way to run anything.

Most other people would have collapsed and shut down. A bullet grazing you should be terrifying. He's not a trained personnel of the army or police force. So, I don't expect him to think to that extent. Even the SS folks with him didn't know what was happening. But, he, knowing America is more of "Showmanship" than anything else, saw the opportunity and took it. Not many folks would even think of doing showmanship talk more of thinking about other bystanders. the normal reaction would be flight,

That's not America. That's Trump and his MAGA base. Democrats respect people who gets things done over the fakeness. Trump is more fake bravado than actual get it done. And his bravado is belied by the fact that when he had the opportunity to serve and really show bravery, he said he had bone spurs in order to dodge the military.

But that's the difference innit. Real heros in that situation think about protecting and serving. And you don't have to be trained to think so. You just not have to be a sociopath and can about other people.

Some people run into a burning building to save lifes, others put their hands up and pose for pictures of it.

You should see the disappointment. Its like someone died! Below is before the match queuing to get in the pub. I went to watch with ma and the family, siblings and partners and kids.

Trump shooting! Shock. So shock I have to call him by his name.

I think I'd been appalled at me gloating if he'd been killed. Hmm! I better rewrite that so you understand. I would have been happy inside if he'd been killed and I might have been appalled at myself, a little. I'd have been angry too because he'd then become Assassinated God Trump, and be worshipped till eternity, and that I definitely don't want, though he's achieved that status already in some minds.

And before you run with 'buda killed dump', no, I do not support assassinations. They aren't even effective if their purpose is the removal of an opponent, as no one would vote for those who so can not win at the ballot box they have to kill their political opponent.

So, since he lived, I buda crown him future king dump.

That's what missing made him, the alternative being old Biden.

Biden will win.

I hope Biden wins.

Based on what? Is there a historical context you're basing this on?
Millions of Americans will just elect a man who they think is wholly immorally unqualified to be President because he was almost assassinated?
This is Aug. there are more than 4 months until the election.

If this classmate is to believed, it seems like he was a Conservative in High School. With the army fatigues he wore in school, the t-shirt he wore the day of the shooting, shooting guns in Highschool and his gun club membership, it seems the picture may be getting clearer as to his political leanings. Time will tell.

Some more details.
He hung out with kids who wore Trump hats.

A third classmate, who asked not to be named, said that Crooks was very smart, took honors classes, and was shy. She said that he had a group of friends who were fairly conservative, some of whom would wear Trump hats.

Only voted once in the PA General Election as a Republican. Didn't vote in the Primaries as some suggested here.
Later that year, a week after turning 18, Crooks registered to vote as a Republican, according to a listing in Pennsylvania’s voter database that matched his name, age and address. Crooks only cast a ballot once, in the 2022 midterm general election, an Allegheny County spokesperson told CNN.

Both of Crooks’ parents worked as social workers, according to state license records. His father is registered to vote as a Libertarian and his mother is registered as a Democrat, state voter records show.

Before they knew who he was.
Feelings against him now are really set in.
Not sure how this changes the vote of people who really really dislike him. Or makes him any more a palatable person. And I may be wrong, but historically I don't think an attempted assassination has helped any candidate.
And I also think Trump can't help himself. So any sympathy he may have garnered would go away the minute he reverts to his old self.

The climate here is pretty hot. I hope people tamp this down somehow. If not, it looks like it may be a pretty brutal election season.

Lol, nobody who was not voting for Trump will vote for him now because he was shot. His shooting (he was hit by a glass anyway) does not change the fact that project 2025 will happen if he wins, Roe v Wade is gone, the shooting is even an oppprtunity for dems to talk about gun control which Republicans hate to talk about. Biden is going to win stop dooming. Trump and his base don't have the numbers to win.

True, they have been playing scripts of Trump calling for violence and telling victims of gun violence to "get over it" this doesn't help him if we are to go by history. I am not even worried that he will lose, I am worried about the violence and chaos he causes after he loses. I hope the law enforcement agencies are ready. Thank the heavens that he is not in the White House to cause another January 6th.

Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by basilico: 9:37am
The shooter was inspired. Here I quote some serious threats to the life of Trump made by the democrats.

It became something of a meme among Democrat voters although no Democrat official would say the “A” word explicitly. Pelosi’s "You wouldn't even allow him in your house, much less in the White House" and “He must be stopped. He cannot be president" were worrisome statements. Biden’s “It’s time to put Trump in the bullseye” may be written off as a mere metaphor, but one recalls the famous historical episode in which King Henry II, who wished to eliminate his nemesis Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, uttered the fateful words “Who will rid me of this meddlesome priest

Joe Biden has painted Trump as a threat too.

Kathy Griffin posted a photo of her her holding Trump severed bloody head. Madonna wishing she would blow up the WH in protests in 2016 inauguration ceremony.
Media harping " He is a threat to our democracy".
A performance in New York depicted a Trump look alike getting stabbed aka Brutus Ceaser assassination.

The democrats crafted a bill to strip Trump of his Secret Service Protection.

All these actions , with no one using the A word were geared to Who will get rid of this meddlesome priest.
