Update on Fire Service

Others like correctional service, Civil defense may recruit cos Immigration just commissioned officers last weekend and federal fire service is ongoing.

When will immigration form be out? Or is it out already?

The Federal Government has said the next stage of the recruitment exercise for the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Federal Fire Service would begin in August.

The Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, Ja’afaru Ahmed, made this known in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

Ahmed added that the Board would conclude the recruitment exercise, which was billed to end on June 15, 2024, will now end before the end of September.

He said, “The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board wishes to inform the general public that it will commence the next stage of the recruitment exercise in August, and will conclude the exercise before the end of September 2024.”

Ahmed announced that all shortlisted candidates would be duly notified of the next stage of the recruitment exercise through their contact details.

The Secretary, however, apologised for the inability to complete the exercise as earlier scheduled due to manpower audits carried out by Services under the Board.

He added, “The board wishes to apologise for its inability to complete the process by 15th June 2024, as earlier intended.

“This is due to a nationwide manpower audit exercise carried out in the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, which was just recently concluded.

“All shortlisted candidates will be duly notified of the next stage through their phone numbers and email addresses.”

The Federal Government has debunked reports in online publications claiming that the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board is set to begin a recruitment exercise into the Nigeria Immigration Service and Federal Fire Service.

Ja’afaru Ahmed, FICMC, the Secretary to the Board, who denied the reports in a statement on Monday, urged Nigerians to ignore them.

“The attention of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has been drawn to several online publications on recruitment into the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Federal Fire Service respectively.

“For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to inform the general public that the Board is currently carrying out a recruitment process in the Federal Fire Service only and will commence the next stage of the exercise in August and will conclude same before the end of September 2024,” the statement said.

The Board had commenced the recruitment process into the Federal Fire Service in 2023 and recently announced that the exercise would be concluded in September, 2024.

That's not true, because police has shortlisted those that will be going for training on 10th of August which is the same day as the final day of the protest... The FFS recruitment shortlist is ready but waiting for instructions to publish it... Let's keep on waiting

I agree with you...

The suspense in this so called recruitment is just too much.They should do what they want to do on time and let people know their fate now.

It's funny enough that the agency that strictly warned against bribery to obtain the job, is the same people involved in such bribery and corruption... I feel the delay is as a result of the good officers fighting the corrupt senior officers and politicians against ill and deceitful recruitment process.

When superior powers come in like the senators... Hope for the common man is lost...
