I think some do it because they feel it's the right thing and it is morally right to speak out against evil. Has the west been a shining light in the darkness? Of course not as history has shown. They can be vile but in my opinion, I think they hold themselves to a higher standard than the east.

Only few Crusades were launched against Muslims. Several Crusades were launched against Jews and even fellow Christians.

Some Crusades were even launched against city-states and had no religious undertone. And many more were launched against those of other religions outside of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.

The Crusades are just like every war fought under the guise of religion. It was a means to get more power, money, and control.

It was less about expanding Christianity and more about increasing the power and influence of the Roman Catholic church and the Pope.
