I no know oo. They should just merge and form super banks. Give existing shareholders some level of worth. All this gymnastics for RI marketing. Everybody wants to keep hold of major holding, no wahala.
They have a 2026 deadline right. Let them keep marketing. Let us see why we should buy these shares at CP at the end of FY24. H2 results awaiting observation.

@Myc actually "foreseeing" comes out of deductive reasoning, which is what you have done. It is similar to prediction. The outcome is not definite. What Oracle tells is a claim of divine revelation to him. Being from a devine source makes the outcome definite. So you may relax as by foreseeing you are not competing with Oracle but doing something human.

I agree with your intuition. It confirms my belief that our rich people have discovered how easily the stock market can make them legally wealthy in very short time (maybe thanks to Ote), and they will continue to exploit that. We the small players will benefit if we follow them.

Forward EPS of N5.16 and forward P.E of around 7?

Thats expensive in this market

Yes, judging by those metrics alone. However I think the major drivers of UCAP's price appreciation are a combination of decent and consistent growth, low outstanding shares and most especially high dividend payout and as an interpolation of these factors, growing dividend payouts. UCAP is a darling of dividend hunters and their strategy may be best for our market where good corporate governance could be an issue.

Bottomline is: With their unique high dividend payout, they are operating on a league of their own and so it won't also be fair to compare them with other financial institutions with traditionally low dividend payouts. I still maintain that their strategy is risky for the business but may not be so for short to medium term investors.

Though I think the reported EPS is even annualized already. Isn't UCAP's outstanding shares 6 billion?

So PE is like 14.

However, by year end, they may pay a total N2.20k out as dividend.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mankind2024: 6:12pm On Jul 17
If you study TOE's approach, you'll observe that he prefers organic growth for his listed companies. He either reinvests dividends into the business or as retains profits, In most cases, the market dictates the prices of his listed companies. I've been holding UCAP Plc shares since 2017, and the price has followed market trends, rather than pump and dump patterns.

Also remember that there were government interventions in Aviation and Healthcare companies during/after COVID that benefitted NAHCO.

Those fx gains are not cash flow. They are FX assets that have a translational gain in Naira. Those fx financial assets may even be tied more to foreign subsidiaries of these banks. To monitize it into naira will even require selling of the financial assets.

*Breaking News:*

The Federal High Court presided over by Hon. Justice Aneke in *Suit No. FHC/CP/494/2021: Venus Construction Co Ltd & 13 Ors vs. Ocean & Oil Development Partner Ltd & Anor* has delivered its Ruling on an application brought by 5 aggrieved shareholders of Oando Plc to join in the suit and set aside the 7th June 2022 Order mamdating Ocean & Oil to buy out all Oando minority shareholders and for which Ocean & Oil wwnts to pay N7.07 per share as purchase price. The Court agreed with the Applicants that the Petitioners do not represent or have the consent of all Oando Shares to file the Petition and thus varied its Order dated 7th June 2022 which is now limited to the shares of the Petitioners who have agreed to sell their shares to Ocean & Oil at N7.07 per share since the Court CANNOT force Oando Minority Shareholders to sell their shares if they do not want to sell.

The implication of the Order is that the *"Oando Go Private"* scheme will no longer fly and that the shares of the Minority Shareholders will no longer be acquired compulsorily as planned by Ocean & Oil.

The Federal High Court also awarded a cost of N100k against the Petitioners and in favour of the Applicants.

Apparently, OANDO has "maradonically" played a fast one on those hoping the repeated court adjournment will once again, pave way for an opportunistic entry riding on volatility. wink cool

I just smile from the sideline when I read certain post about the coy. ...It's surprising that some folks aren't seeing the value accretive potential in the coy when all they needed to do was thoroughly peruse through their financial print, particularly the last two.
Unfortunately, many will choose to focus on a coys SPL setting aside the timely expose that often comes with proficiently and efficiently modelling the Nos in the BS and SCF.

Let me say this again; OANDO holds huge potential even @ the CMP.
A very conservative FVE places the coy @ N37.15 even if I assume zero growth in H2, 2024 and knock-off a RP equivalent to surrounding risk level.
I love how the technicals has played out. (ref: HTF set-up in view)
Even a thorough breakdown of the coys TA gives a clear clue on directional bias and price projection, but of course some aren't seeing it. (I already did an analysis on this)

I did highlight the immense potential in OANDO, 1st @ N4+ and later @ N7--8... at a time when all but a few jack believed the stock will be de-listed in the near term. ...surprisingly, they still do!
It's almost like they can't read the hand writing on the wall. wink cheesy cool

Was done talking about OANDO so I won't appear to be marketing the coy. (see link above for my last 2 post)
Those who subscribed to my outline/recommendations and investment guide--Series 1 and 2 knew exactly what they had to do.

People appear to be more concerned about antecedents/the past than what the present gives or even the future holds.
These 2 Nuggets are key!

"I know of a man who was 'drowned in the vicissitudes of the stock market'. ...his pathways was built around the PAST than the FUTURE, until the PRESENT left him behind!"
~Sinclair

"If you want to KNOW if you can SUCCEED in the stock market, then 1st find out where you fall in between SMART, INTELLIGENT and DISCERNING.
...but remember that the market has been CONFIGURED to have and work with all 3 attribute as a collective."

~Sinclair

CAVEAT: NOT to be inferred as any sought of investment advice. The need for due diligence should still take higher precedence ahead of this post.

It is well

I did warn that OANDO will "maradonically" play a fast one on some folks. wink cheesy grin
Sure the smart fellows will be glad while our antece**** concerned fellows will... wink cheesy cool

A big congrats to my prime subscribers who took positions @ N4+ and those who subscribed to my outline/recommendations and investment guide--Series 1 and aligned @ 7--8+.
