Honestly, I'm getting sick tired of this suspense filled rollercoaster series.
That can only be explained by IRCC.. February applicant have begin to see response self..IRCC knows wat they're doing anyway!

Extension doesn’t lead to change of status to work permit. You’d simply have another 6 months visit visa.
What’s your spouse studying for? Diploma? masters? PhD?
For you to change to work permit, you’d have to get a job with an LMIA approved company within the initial 6 months or the additional 6 months if extension is granted and use the job offer to apply for work permit.
Legit LMIA job offer is difficult to get though.

You said you had U.S. visa earlier and now has a Canada visa approval. If you claims your passport is missing just to get canada visa 10 years , please be aware that the U.S. and Canada share a database. If you later appear at the U.S. border with the same passport you reported missing, you could face some issues. Be careful!

Thank you Mayor. She is a college student and the exclusion of sowp by ircc caught up with us.

I planned to travel in November 2024, should I get 6 months it will be April 2025. If I can get another 6 months extension of visitor record to October 2025, it's enough time for her to get her PGWP and a full time job (waiting for her) to convert my status via SOWP from visitor to work permit.

That's d goal.

There are two alternative options:

Option 1. Have someone legally residing in Canada apply on your behalf. The fee is just $5 Canadian dollars.

Option 2. Google GCMS Notes and start scrolling. You would see different third party vendors to choose from. Click on it and follow the instructions to apply. You would eventually have to fill a consent form and sign with blue ink.

Good day house. I did biometrics with my husband in may, mine has been received and updated since three days after the biometrics but his hasn’t been received yet. Has anybody here experienced something like this? It’s going to two months now I’m the main applicant tho

Check if your husband portal is reflecting his biometric number,if yes then it has been recieved by IRCC and probably still under review. But, if not, you can send webform attaching the tiny slip that was given to him to keep for his records.

All I submitted was
- invitation letter (reason for invite was to visit me and my family since we've been separated for over a year, she's married and her husband is in naija; so she will come back)
- my financial docs (I said i was sponsoring the trip 100%)
- my PR card
- Our birth and marriage certificate to show relationship


I still have another sister I invited since April 14, she has valid US visa, no response yet
