I wanted to chime in because I actually went through the EB-1 route a few years back. It was a bit of a process, but I managed to get my green card without needing a US employer. It’s a fantastic option if you have some solid achievements or advanced degrees. I know it’s not super well-known, especially in the Nigerian community, but it’s definitely worth exploring. |

Please I need clarity. I am currently doing a DIY eb2 niw application from Nigeria. Important questions below: 1. What are the fees? I know about the general fee of $715 however is it an additional $300 or $600? 2. Applying from Nigeria, what is the payment method and how do you send this payment? 3. On the I 140 application, what do you fill out on questions 4,5,6,7 because I saw in a recent post, you are supposed to fill out NO to question 5 and YES to question 6. So what do you fill out for question 4 and 7 as they are all related to 5 and 6. Please answers to the above questions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! |

chima1978: 1. $300 2. You need to connect with someone who resides in the US to assist you. 3. I cannot say because I did not fill mine myself. My attorney did and I did not bother to go through the form. Nevertheless, I know that you are considered a small employer, hence, the main reason you will need to pay $300 and not $600. 1 Like |

Aku660:Thanks for the response. Here is the content of their letter The National Visa Center (NVC) received the immigrant visa petition filed by B*******, B***** I******* on behalf of B******, B***** I******* from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. However, your case is not currently eligible for further processing because there is an annual limit on the number of immigrant visas that the Department of State can issue. For some visa categories, the wait could be many years. This petition will be eligible for further processing when your priority date is earlier than the cut-off date for your visa category. To learn what the cut-off date is for this petition, review the Visa Bulletin online at You will need the following information to determine your cut-off date: Country of Chargeability..NIGERIA Visa Category...................E2 - PROFESSIONALS FOLLOWING ADVANCED DEGREES Priority Date.....................21MAR2024 1 Like |

This means that your case is not eligible for visa application because the yearly quota has been exceeded. NVC will contact you once you are eligible for Visa application. The new fiscal year usually starts at October. Hopefully NVC may request for your Visa fee and documents after October 2024. bankyman: 1 Like |

Aku660:Thank you for this. What if PD is current and one has been DQ’ed, which one does NVC give higher priority in scheduling? For example, first applicant : PD 15 Feb 2022, DQ July 2023. Second applicant : PD August 2022, DQ April 2023. Who gets IL first?] |
Re: USA Employment-based Immigration (EB-1,EB-2,EB-3 Visa) by Aku660: 2:42pm On Jul 16 |
It is processed based on first in first out. The person with the earliest DQ will be attended to first. atrapon: 1 Like |

Hi everyone, please I received this mail below from NVC, I want to know if am documentarily qualified? 27-JUN-24 The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to scheduling your immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy overseas. NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner, and attorney (if applicable). Please do NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until you have received an immigrant visa from the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General. The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview. Please visit https://nvc.state.gov/prep for information about immigrant visa interviews. Additionally, the petitioner, as the sponsor, and all other sponsors (household members and joint sponsors), may be required to provide updated or additional evidence to you to present at the time of your interview, such as: • Other income • Assets • Proof of current employment Sincerely, National Visa Center Case Number: Beneficiary's Name Preference Category: E3 Priority Date: |

Hi everyone, Does anyone have any updates on EB2 or EB1 interviews at the US consulate in Lagos? Are they currently processing these visas? If so, which Documentarily Qualified (DQ) months are being called? Have they started with anyone from January 16, 2023? I’d really appreciate any info! Thanks! 1 Like |

Interesting! Doe that mean the NVC timeline is kind of "selective"? That is, it doesn't apply to all categories of applicants in some instances like this? Because, the current timeline shows they are creating files for Petitions received from USCIS on 11.07.2024. It seems this timeline does not work for applicants whose country quota has been exhausted. Am I correct? A friend of mine also belong to this category. He was approved on 3rd June 2024 or so. I was thinking he should have received his welcome letter (from NVC) by now. @Bankyman @Aku660 Aku660: 1 Like 2 Shares |
