Those in OANDO knows this and are determined to see tonthe end of all these.....

You're just going back and forth.
Pullback here and there is allowed, make all of you allow this poor stock breathe Biko 😁

It has approached another important junction, a catalyst may again come in any moment to shoot it above KM 20.....

OANDO wer go do another round of full bid on news soon, maybe even today or monday.
NB: i don't own a single unit. Good luck to all speculators in the house. Another round of full bid is coming but Just know when to jump out.

Na gamble na until the needful done

My man, @Megawealth01, you are one of the people that I admire and have huge respect for on this platform, because your discussions and comments are always friendly, cordial and devoid of the usual shenanigans on this platform.

I would advise, if you allow me, that it may be too late to wait until the needful is done. You already know how the market operates.(the ''needful'' may not be done on time, so as to discourage people while others use the opportunity to amass more units)

So let me give you the advise that you gave me: use what you can plan with to take position in Oando now.

I am suspecting that Oando would either come to the market soon to raise funds (through rights or public offer) or issue bonus shares to shareholders, which would make the price to skyrocket.

Where did you read that Oando has a legal title to NAOC's assets in the JV? It will be handed over to Oando during the signing ceremony. I'm not suggesting it's not a done deal.

Signing ceremony is not for rice and poundo o. It's just a formality transactions of this nature undergo. NUPRC CEO simply said deal is completed, regulatory approvals granted, but docs still be be signed. They like to make a fanfare of deals of this nature. Just picture CEOs and government officials sitting across tables and passing some documents around and taking a few photos with Wale holding up a certificate. Think of it this way, you have graduated from Uni but you will have to wait for the convocation day to collect your Cert or degree.

"Acquisition status
According to him, the NAOC – Oando deal is completed and the signing ceremony is to be conducted in the coming days. "

https://nairametrics.com/2024/07/03/nuprc-announces-the-completion-of-oando-nigeria-agip-oil-company-acquisition-deal/

And where did you also read after the NUPRC statement that the legal title in NAOC assets has not been passed on to Oando?

The signing ceremony is just to formally announce the deal to the public (industry watchers) and take pictures for the records.
It is different from the legal status (substance) of the transaction, which is binding and the ultimate.
The signing ceremony takes place usually between the contracting parties (e.g. ENI/NAOC, Oando) and some stakeholders in the industry (e.g. regulator NUPRC, contractors, employee unions, press, analysts, banks etc.). Bodies like SEC, CAC, the Court, FCCPC may not be present at the signing ceremony, but they all would have had in their possession the executed (signed) agreement/deal with the binding legal status clearly spelt out.
So the signing ceremony is the not the deciding factor. It is only a form of announcement or communication to the industry.

In business contract transactions, what matters is the substance rather than the form.

IMO, the bolded is the issue we have as a nation.

EVERY individual or business has a phase of baby steps: that does not mean that someday they will not walk and eventually run.
No business hits the ground running without adequate support.

What Dangote has done (building a refinery of that capacity) goes beyond what most Nigerians can fully understand.

There is an endless list of home-grown businesses that had life snuffed out of them BECAUSE we wanted quality from foreign countries.

Those foreign quality products once started poorly too... wink

Many people don't know what advanced countries had to endure before they developed their admirable technology and economic power today.
USA had to fight a war to assert the right of American products to be protected from higher quality and cheaper European manufactured products. The southern aristocrats rich from slavery preferred European products over low quality local substitutes and they opposed high tariffs. The slavery issue was the flash point but not the main motivation from the North that was getting industrialised

China did not waste her foreign exchange to finance luxury imports for her citizens when they started. The head od state said let the people walk on the 2 legs if they can't afford cars, and use their steel even of low quality until the Chinese learnt how to make high quality steel. Today China produces over 50% of total world steel output and export cars all over the world

Development doesn't come cheap or while everything is at your beck and call except you discover natural resources to provide funds far beyond your population.

In the 70's Nigeria needed to export 25-30 million barrels of oil daily to earn per capita what the Saudi or UAE is earning. But we attempted to do what are doing with our 2m barrels.
Today for us to match up with them in terms of per capita earnings we need to export 70m barrels daily but we only do 1.3m barrels and some still believe if politicians stop stealing oil money we will be living like Saudi

Saudi is doing 12m barrels daily while UAE is doing about 3m barrels daily

Total world oil export market is 110m barrels of oil daily, and Nigeria needs to supply 70m out of it to earn like Saudi grin

Oga why do you think we remain poor as a nation? Isn't it the way we keep holding ourselves back? Dangote said he is taking away the easy money that many cabals in the oil value chain have been making for years and he does not expect them to pray for him.

Since when do Nigerians bother about quality products, with all the substandard products that our importers go to Chaina and ask them to make for us? Dangote refinery can survive without Nigeria. Many of the big refineries in Singapore and Europe are situated in countries that don't produce a drop of oil. So unless we have a government that is serious about us processing our oil and not exporting it and importing refined products then maybe that's where we will head. One thing is for sure. Nigerians can't kill a private man's refinery like they killed the government owned ones.

Dangote that is already exporting his fuel to some ECOWAS countries and Europe is the same somebody is telling us is making sub-standard fuel
It's government's choice to see what benefits the country the most if local companies supply us and keep profits here with their workers transacting in our economy or they want Nigeria to import and support the businesses and workers located in other countries

I am only surprised dangote refinery has not responded to that allegation. I doubt if we are in any position to defend the company if they have not refuted the claim.
What if they acknowledge it to be true.
A govt agency cannot come out with such claims without reason.

Okay, KarlTom, if I understand this;
You pump baby steps petrol into your tank;
All in the name of import substitution nationalism;
And your car starts doing baby steps along the road;
Is that what will take Nigeria to the promised Land?
Cars doing baby steps along the road, because driven with baby steps petrol?

Nigerian crude oil (associated with BRENT, UKOIL), is one of the best in the world and more expensive than WTI (USOIL). If the Dangote refinery sources all its supply from Nigeria, the quality will be high, but if most of their suppliers are from abroad, well the allegation about lower quality may likely be right.

"Dangote Refinery, as well as some modular refineries like Watersmith Refinery and Aradel Refinery, are producing between 650 and 1,200 PPM. Therefore, in terms of quality, their products are inferior to imported ones,”

Ahmed added that the country cannot risk dependence on Dangote Refinery by suspending petroleum products, especially Automotive Gas Oil and Dual Purpose Kerosene, DPK.

These two quotes speak volumes...

My stance is that you don't cut off your head because you have headache

That was a reckless statement from someone in authority. Even if it is true, demarketing dangote product at this point is not the way to go.
I am tempted to believe that a lot of people are actually working against the actualisation of local refining of petroleum in the country for selfish interest.

Monopoly is a game and this FG knows how to play it... What happened to IBETO back in the days?

All Nigerians need is quality sha no matter where it comes from

I am really interested in this Ibeto story because it's always quoted by people against Dangote, in addition to his perceived monopoly. If the government decided to ban cement importation in favor of locally produced cement, and Dangote happened to be the largest producer (he was not the only producer at the time), how is this unfair? I don't know how people think sometimes. We are here crying over hyperinflation and high cost of things, but at the same time, we want to be importing everything. We are not serious yet.

If it's true that the sulfur concentration is high, it can be desulfurized. A multibillion-dollar refinery must have a desulfurization process; it will take going through the process a couple of times. I think it is more of a cabal trying to fight back. The funny thing is that petrol is in high demand, and if Nigeria doesn't want Dangote's petrol, he can easily sell it elsewhere.

No complain when that happens. undecided angry

According to dangote group, the ioc will not sell crude directly to them, instead they referred the company to their trading arm making price to be unnecessary higher in addition to the allegation that they will also add some premium including a $5 on every barrel of crude sold as NNPC premium.
