ElSudani:I will advise you go back again and read and this time read it slowly and if the end you couldn't grasp the meaning, then I could be of help. If you don't know that there are many sharp practice in the oil industry starting from the amount of oil drilled declared, crude oil refined and declared. Taming of diversion of oil refined (hope you're aware that ten cargoes may be declared and 6 of them will be diverted to neighbouring countries), you may not be aware. Are you also aware that there is is also inflation in lifting and landing costs. So many sharp practices done by the oil cartel against the country. When you're able to curtail these sharp practices, you have won the war to some extent. Empowerment of those into modular refineries will ensure will have sufficient refined crude oil for consumption and as is well known in the school of demand and supply, the higher the supply, the lowest the price. That's why you see prices of goods that are now in high supply are now coming down. Examples are tomatoes, yam etc. Revamping the refineries will also substantially reduced the burden. I hope you've learnt a little? 1 Like 1 Share |

IfnobeGod20: The directive by Tinubu's administration to stop oil theft is supposed to achieve what exactly? Also, how will this prevent the immediate consequences of the subsidy removal even if you were able to stop oil theft first? You are still not telling me what Obi promised to do to prevent the averse effects of the subsidy removal. |

Samtob90:This is what I hate hearing. Every successful government come and complained of her predecessor and Aimee times complained of foundational predecessors. To me, it makes no sense at all. You vie for an election because you think you can do it more better. Dwelling on the past failures makes me angry and uncomfortable. If during campaign you safely tell the electorates, I won't be able to do more than the person there now, I do believe electorates would have looked for an alternative. No doubt we depend too much on importation but our problem is multifaceted and it was primary caused by policy somersault of the government. Let me give you a little scenario of what caused this hike in prices of goods and services. Mama P a garri seller went to market to buy foreign good and on getting there she discovered the good she was buying ₦2k is now ₦10k. On getting home, she has not look for alternate to argument the increase she incurred in the good she bought, she will now increase the price of her garri she's selling ₦3k to ₦7k. Now, papa K selling yam went to buy garri and discovered the price of garri has increased, he gets back home and increase his yam price from ₦2k to ₦5k and the circle continues. This is what caused this incessant hike in the prices of goods and services. My brother, Nigerians are paying well in tax. The only problem we have is corruption. Someone like me , I am paying over ₦20k deductible from my salary monthly and if you add the total number within my grade level, you will discover the government is making millions on my grade level, lest the other grade levels. That's just for one organisation. Corruption has been the bane of our problem and not any other thing. The reason people complain about government policy is because of the insincerity on the part of government. Government will say one thing but go and do another thing. You don't tell the citizens to endure but went buying tyres and rims for 3.7b. Go build VP house for ₦30b as if he doesn't have where he is living before. Go renovate National Assembly for ₦15b. Travelling to Ethiopia with ₦1b. An Ethiopia in Africa and so many frivolities that can make a man you told to endure to look at you that you're fooling him. Government insincerity is what is causing people to complain of their policies. Let the government be seen cutting cost and selfless in service and that will build the people's confidence in them. |

IfnobeGod20:What would Peter Obi have done in the last 12 months Your epistle does not tell us the solution to the fact that when Buhari left alm9st 100% of government revenue went to service debt and that another 23 trillion was owed to the CBN having been released into the economy without matching growth Anger and emotion are not solutions Airline funds were trapped in the country and without paying obligations the naira would crash I am keen to hear what should have been done without anger or unproductive emotions Twice Now Each time Buhari left office his successors have had to swallow IMF medicines Babangidas SAP was a lot worse than this Those old enough will tell you When you borrow and you cannot pay you lose sovereignty Subsidy had to go otherwise debtors won't get paid So the Nigerian people must pay That is the bitter inheritance from Buhari 1 Like 1 Share |

ElSudani:You're novice in this issue, so you won't understand it even if I explain from now till tomorrow to you. The directive given by Mr. President to the service chiefs is to protect oil at the pipelines. The real saboteur is within the administrative chain in collaboration with the security agencies. Most of the cargoes don't get offloaded before been moved out of the country and it is only been accounted for by the administrative chain of NNPC. You know what, the cargoes diverted will be accounted for as among the oil consumed by the citizens. Now, what Obi said he will do is to kill the NNPC and turn the oil there to water so that people will be using water to power their engine. Since after I have reeled out what he said he will do, you are still asking me again what he said he will do. My brother, what you don't understand, you don't understand because all he said looks strange to you and you may think it may not work. You know why you look at it to seems may not work? Because those doing the sharp practices are friends to those in high places and most of their companies are also involved and that is why till date it has become and seemingly impossible to cut the corruption in NNPC. 1 Like 1 Share |

Gajagojo:This your comment only nailed Tinubu's government the more. You can't inherit such acclaimed "terrible", let me use their own word "dead" economy and still be spending like the prodigal sons. The economy that you know was into serious debt but still spending like the wayward child. My brother, every administrator has their ways of doing things. Me and you may decide that we want to go to Ghana. You may decide to go with plane but do you know I may decide to go by bicycle and I will still arrive there same way you would have arrived there early but mode we used to arrive there still differ. That's how administrative procedure is. Your Tinubu used fast administrative process but never weigh the pros and cons of the process and that resulted to what we are facing today. In your last paragraph, you said Nigerian people must pay for what they inherited in a bitter way. My brother, no reasonable government transfer her burden to the citizens to bear. The aim of government is to always bring succumb to the citizens they govern and not to heap unbearable burden on them. Do you think Buhari wasn't wise to have tarried the implementation of removal of the subsidy till after his tenure? He must have been told the pros and cons of removing it and that was why he vehemently resisted it removal all through his tenure. Mr. President, should have stayed for sometimes and think of what to do before removing the subsidy but at that all the efforts made by him after the removal was just a surface dressing approach, which somehow compounded the problem. |

IfnobeGod20:I am not Tinubu's spokesman. I am not his enemy Do you have any ideas devoid of reference to Tinubu? We are where we are instead you keep regurgitation of impotent anger They should have waited before removing subsidy and pay for it with which money?. Buhari did not pay one kobo of what was budgeted for subsidy in 2024 from January to May NNPC. was illegally bearing the brunt and giving the government credit That debt has. NOT YET been paid So tell us how was this delay in removal to be funded? By bankrupting NNPC? Please let us discuss ideas not Tinubu or fantasy The only problem I have with Tinubu is he is not showing example in curbing the cost of governance and he has been reluctant to come out and tell Nigerians the truth about Buhari but none of those two things changes reality on ground All logical actors know there was zero prospect of Tinubu coming into office to start with a supplementary budget to pay for subsidy evenif for one week The whole budget till the end of May that Buhari made REMAINS A DEBTon NNPC balance sheet Where will the money come from? |
Re: I Do Not Pray For Nigeria To Crash - Doyin Okupe Responds To Dele Momodu by ElSudani: 6:57pm On Jul 20 |
IfnobeGod20: With all due respect you are talking nonsense. If Obi kill the NNPC then oil theft will end because he intended to kill the perpetrators as well? Tell me in simple terms what Obi proposed to ease the pain of subsidy removal. Let me help you, he proposed nothing just empty rhetorics. |

Gajagojo:Buhari allocated 3.6trilliin for subsidy till June 2023. That was why many people frown at Tinubu when at his inauguration he pronounced the removal of subsidy. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/10/2023-budget-buhari-earmarks-n3-6trn-for-fuel-subsidy/&ved=2ahUKEwjXosPdqraHAxWmW0EAHf2SAkwQFnoECCgQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1XWrPfQLMtpn8ZLJDd0k43 You have to show me a contrary link to show that subsidy was not paid for till the end of June, 2023. All this your argument is untenable. If the same Tinubu can made supplementary budget to request for buying airplane that they never planned for two or three months ago, why do you think in weeks he cannot make request for issue that bother on the generality? You started that you are not a spokesman to Tinubu, so I don't expect you to hide behind one finger to cover up what is not cover able, because I know you as one of his supporters. I don't want you to gaslight me here please. There's always room in the constitution for exigencies or emergency request. If it is issue that concern them, they know how they do it but those that concern masses are so difficult for them to do. So saying it would be difficult for him to make request for supplementary budget is within your own ideology and thinking and not what is obtainable in political space. Buhari has fully paid for subsidy till June, 2023, meaning Tinubu has a full one month grace to study the policy of removing the subsidy or not but he was hasty. |

If you don't know just be silent NNPC is on record in May and June last year about what they were owed Following Tinubu’s announcement, NNPC Limited said it welcomes the removal of the subsidy. Its boss added that the government owes the company 2.8 trillion naira ($6bn) for the petrol subsidy. Following Tinubu’s announcement, NNPC Limited said it welcomes the removal of the subsidy. Gajagojo:How I wish you just attach a link to show that Buhari never paid from subsidy till June, 2023, that would have rested this argument. Buhari pay off the sum of 3.6t for subsidy between June, 2022 to June, 2023. I want you to bring out contrary view and not this market women gossip. 6trillion was projected for subsidy in the year 2023 and Buhari paid the sum of 3.6trillion. IfnobeGod20:Thanks for your response, the summary of the whole thing is bad, greedy and corrupt governance over the year. 1. A year is never enough to turn around the economy. However, there was pride in the implications of both subsidy and Forex floating thereby creating hardship. 2. Nigeria is not paying the required tax compared with other countries as well as developed countries but then, government has not justified the little we pay. They live big at the expense of the infrastructure and development. While working in oau then, we divided the personnel cost alone by the numbers of students all together, each student is required to pay 500k per annum to cover salaries alone. Overheard and capital expenditure excluded. 3. I support protest that will address all the politicians both present and past who brought us to this level but not selected targets. I stand tall to tell you that a some countries within west Africa pay COVID 19 tax up till even the lat purchase I made today. It is well. I was once a community leader, I stand tall till today but we were forced to resign because we did not share the community money. |

Gajagojo:This is the same person telling me nothing concern him with Tinubu. A man that I have his catalogue of comments in favour of Tinubu. Please be man enough to stay put to what you believe and never hide it. I can't vote by the nature of my job but I stand with Obi till date and everyone that I had contact with me here knows this. Same way I supported Buhari, until he started derailing and I withdrew my love for him in politics. Nobody want to burn the country than those impoverishing the citizens and exposing them to danger of angry men that are hungry. And those that don't live by what they preach but prefer to live larger than life by spending frivolously. These are set of people that want to burn down the country and not those that lost election, because it's not today that elections are lost and won. It's the same set of people that in the past incited people after the lost election and scores of people were killed at the eve of presidential election. Till date I have not heard that a soul has been loss because Peter Obi or Atiku lost election. So direct your bile to those directly and indirectly burning the country for winning election. Even after I posted the link of the amount budgeted for subsidy in 2023 and the amount that had been paid before the expiration of Buhari's tenure but you still feigned ignorance of the link but still brandishing the balance of what to pay, which the GMD narrated. Let me make it simple for you, may be that will sink well to your brain. A 6trillion was budgeted for subsidy in 2023 A 3.6trillion was paid When you minus the amount budgeted and the amount paid, you have left 2.4trillion. This is the amount Kyari said wasn't available for payment of subsidy. I hope I have made it simpler for you now to understand. I don't say you should not support Tinubu but don't go about telling lie to cover up the obvious. If by tomorrow Mr. President did something significant that is worthy to praise him for, I will be part of those that will praise him, just as the way I praised Wike for beefing up security in FCT by the distribution of Hilux to security agencies. I am not a politician, so I can't be a party man that will always defend the mess of a party. I praise when I needed to praise and I scold when the other side comes. The only thing is, I am a special love for Peter Obi and he is not my tribe. |
