Is the solution found in comparing a country less than us? The reference that has been made to Kenya and the rest of them, they are smaller countries to Nigeria. We are a giant of Africa, we must provide a solution that is better, sustainable and lasting,” Mr Kalu said

undecided

This is the kind of 'nonsense' talk that has put Nigeria in the straitjacket she is trapped in.

An empty, inexplicable arrogance that flies in the face of reality.

No temperance in thought or speech. No humility, no introspection, nothing.

The good thing is that reality doesn't care what the Benjamin Kalus of this world think or say about it. All, and I mean all the nationalist rhetoric in the world will not erase some harsh, sad truths about the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Kalu's empty bragging will not change the fact that nowadays Nigeria is always in the running for the poverty capital of the world. Nigeria doesn't have food security. She doesn't have energy security. Nigeria doesn't have...security, full stop.

But Kalu and those who think like him believe Nigeria is better than "Kenya and the rest of them, those smaller countries".

Delusions. undecided

The sort of protests that may turn violent are never planned, there are mostly as a result of the public's spontaneous reaction to an event. The planned protests would be very peaceful.

Which of them, Federal, States, or Local Governments?
Re: Lawmakers Warn Nigerians Against Imitating Kenya’s Bloody Demonstration by OALandAgents: 8:32pm On Jul 20
Tinubu hike fuel price from N200 to N750, lawmakers did not hear the people's cries.

Tinubu devalue Naira from N450 to Dollar to N2,000 to Dollar , lawmakers remain deaf to Nigerians' complaints of hardships being imposed on them.

Tinubu hike the price of food and transport whilst paying politicians and officials hundreds of billions of Naira as gifts and bribes still lawmakers did not respond to the suffering of the populace.

Nigerians groan as electricity power grid collapse as bills rose at the same time that Tinubu is replacing his fleet of presidential airplanes at costs that may run into trillions of Naira. Lawmakers remained unmoved.

Nigerian youths who are left unemployed and out of school from the destroyed Nigerian economy decide to organize a protest to sack Tinubu and all of a sudden lawmakers are having sleepless nights and trying to lecture them about the dangers of protesting undecided

I doubt the youths would hear the lawmakers words .

We are waiting for you on the streets, as a matter of fact, the federal government will be happy to have you on the streets. This is a very good population control strategy, lazy youths will be reduced by as much percentage as are lazy and foolish enough to storm the streets. None of you will be allowed to escape

Mumu talk.

I insist that the redemption that Africa needs will not come from Nigeria, let those countries lesser than the so called 'giant' do the talking and at the same time do the walking, Nigerians are quite comfortable with the status quo.

As a very concerned Nigerian, I feel the pains a lot of nigerians are going through currently as a result of the polices adopted by the government of Tinubu. However, I will not support any protest at this very point in time owing to the fact that there is nothing the government can do in the immediate to resolve the situation we are in right now. Protesting with the present state of hunger might be a recipe for disaster.

They were looting and burning. The locals started organizing vigilantes to beat the protesters.
I wrote about this same thing earlier today. The so-called Gen Z inspired protests in Kenya against President Ruto have led to the horrendous widespread looting of private businesses and arsons on goverment buildings. This is exactly what happened during EndSARs and more in 2020.

Now, there's no way any protests in Nigeria will be any peaceful as it would be hijacked as usual just like the EndSARs leading to massive lootings of shopping malls, killings, and rapes of women, etc just like it happened in 2020 especially in Lagos. A robust intelligence and security framework must ensure that violent protests by fifth columnists and highly impressionable young ones never takes place especially in the highly volatile Lagos State (where all the protests right from the 1989 anti-SAP riots during Gen. Ibrahim Babangida's military dictatorship which some of us who were alive as of 1989 experienced) witnessed violence, lootings and more.

CNG trucks and buses must be rapidly deployed to major cities in Nigeria so as to crash the cost of wholesale and retail food items and drugs, the cost of transportation will also reduce thereby taking the financial burden off the shoulders of those folks who CANNOT meet their daily financial obligations due to hyperinflation. Period.

You admit there is "hardship" you acknowledge people have the right to protest but you ended it with there are instigators and leaders that needs to be detained for interrogation .. are we fools

These politicians and govt appointees are so unbelieveable .. with the height of hunger in the land if not that Nigerians are èran-iya ... should we even be fixing a date to protest something wey suppose don start
one egg #200, and these useless politicians/govt plan of ameliorating hardship is to share rice that will be diverted and share to APC strong members in local govt, they must loot anything

They propose to lift ban on grains and suspend duties buh they are deliberately stalling cos there source of joy is to see Nigerians queue at there gate for stipends,

One day stammerer will call baba full ... if una do well, una no go dey jittery naw

Nice one
U finish wrk here
ReubenE:
There is something about most Nigerians and the leaders. Always quick to use wrong things happening elsewhere as a baseline to justify their incapacity over here. Always selective in comparing Nigeria to what is big or small elsewhere depending on the magnitude of the sh*t they created here.

When comparing oil prices, Nigeria is never too big to be compared to oil prices in small Ghana in volume of production and abundance.
They say Borno is bigger than Belgium that's why it is not possible for them to secure the forests of Borno. But you'll never see them compare Nigeria to the likes of Russia that is 17 times bigger than Nigeria or the US that is 9 times bigger than Nigeria that their forests are secured.

Now, Nigeria is big and Kenya is small. But you'll never see the same corrupt band of leaders compare Nigeria to the big countries of the world that good things are happening.

And Hon. Fatima needs to be properly counseled. She's only interested in arresting protesters rather solving the reasons for the mass agitation.
If in her view it is some people that are "INSTIGATING" the protest. Who is instigating the mass hunger and general hopelessness that's ravaging Nigeria presently.
