Despite citing the refinery in tinubus Lagos with all the potential to employ 30,000 lagosians, generate trillion naira taxes to Lagos govt, reposition Nigeria, tinubu is frustrating this man for refusing to sponsor his election. But awarding trillion naira contract to least competent foreigner chaugory for sponsoring his election with money stolen from Lagos coffers. This gives credence to the assertion that the fulanis and Yorubas intentionally frustrated all seaport in the south south from working and mandated oil companies to move headquarters to Lagos and pay taxes where headquarter is based just to kill the Niger delta economy.
Dangote may have cleverly avoided investing in Nigeria delta so that Yoruba politicians will not frustrate his business the way other Niger delta based businesses were intentionally frustrated by Yoruba politicians. But he didn't see this coming. He didn't know that getting too close to a Yoruba politician like tinubu and refusing to be used can attract terrible vendetta. Yoruba politicians have history of unforgiveness and vendetta. It's genetic. Vindictiveness is in that race

Very true

Nope .. I support the government in this. Dangote needs to be transparent. Energy security requires multiple sources to guarantee availability and affordability.

It is not the government, it is those nnpc and their subsidiaries that are being sponsored by the foreign cabals and also headed by all these Fulani cabals.
Every government come and go but afraid to deal seriously with these guys. Many things are wrong with this nation.
And again look at it from another angle, he may be using a reverse phycology, he will be called and dialogue with the government after these outbursts, then round table will be made where everything will be settled. He has access to tinubu than any other person. He knows the game.

Dangote is calling off plans to invest in a new steel plant in Nigeria after the government accused him of seeking to become a monopoly with his new refinery in the West African nation.

Dangote said, "let others that have more money than us go and bring their money from Dubai and invest in their fatherland."

“Our own board has decided that we should not have the steel plant. If we do, we will be called all sorts of names
,” Dangote said at a media briefing Saturday at the refinery in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub.

I watched the full video here and Aliko Dangote spoke calmly and very brilliantly on all the major talking-points while giving technical details. He also said towards the end of the video that Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) would be ready latest the 10th or 12th of August 2024. He said the fire incident slowed things a bit but they have since moved on. Earlier, he said when Dangote Cement started manufacturing, ONLY Lafarge Cement was operating in Nigeria and that NOBODY accused Lafarge Cement of being a monopoly at that time, so, he wonders why anyone would start calling Dangote Cement a monopoly when other cement companies are operating side-by-side with Dangote Cement.

Ever since Aliko Dangote started building that Dangote Petrochemical Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki LGA in Lagos State, a section of Nigerians who are ethnic bigots and who don't like him started attacking him online and offline, and calling him a MONOPOLIST. All the evidence of these attacks can still be read online and offline on NL, X, Facebook, and other crappy blogs and YouTube videos. The dude has indeed bravely invested some of his personal funds and long-term loans to expand his manufacturing base, while already paying back all the loans and is on his way to making a total turnover of 30 billion USD from all his company operations per year. He must be commended for that.

I hope Aliko Dangote can rescind his decision to have a steel plant in Nigeria, but if that plan doesn't align with the long-term vision of Dangote Group, then he can let it slide.

The current President of Nigeria and his economic and security teams MUST ensure that Aliko Dangote (and other investors) continues to do business profitably and ensure that all the inefficiencies and road blocks being put in place by saboteurs are ELIMINATED with ROBUST ruthlessness. Period.

Once he said let other Nigerians too who may have more cash more than his company go and bring their money from Dubai and invest too i knew immediately he must have been referring to Atiku.
But the point remains that Ahmed, who is the head of that government agency actually made a reckless statement. But if Tinubu should sack him now or force him to resign Tinubu will be accused of targeting Notherners again.

The Government can break the monopoly of Dangote Refinery by reviving the existing refineries.

Why will I as a foreign investor take my money to Nigeria if the biggest investor is not confident in the country and is clearly being fought by the government?

Dangote is right. If I were the one in his shoes, I'll feel the same.

I can't be patriotic enough and some buffoons who stole this country dry and stached their money in foreign accounts are here screaming "monopoly".

It's very true that you can't please everybody in this world. When you're good it's a problem. When you're bad it's a bigger problem. Dangote is the biggest benefactor of the Nigerian economy through value creation in his group of companies. You can imagine how many families are living a stable life through employment in his companies and provision of consumer goods and services.

If it's easy, let others bring their money home and invest in Nigeria. What these cabals know how to do best is to invest their money in real estate businesses in Dubai and the western countries. Nonsense.
