The respite for Dangote is that Tinubu will not be president forever.
The refinery can use foreign grades as feedstock and the global market can absorb his entire output.
But it'll mess with his projections and finances.

I understand his fears about steel.
There is currently a glut in the global steel industry.
The Chinese have overcapacity and everyone jealously guards internal steel industries.
He'll need some sort of protectionism to be in the green. So if he runs into the same issues with his proposed steel plant, he'll have to write off billions of dollars in losses.

All said, he had to know this was coming.
He should dig in and adopt a "we die here" mindset. $20B is a lot.

Also it's not looking good for the government because so far, nothing illegal can be used against him and this is now being termed as a witch hunt against a prominent northerner just because he didn't support you in your presidential campaign (allegedly)
