Lmaoo.. But this means you suddenly support Dangote for all the other things they accused him of.

As if it's not been confirmed he got fx at subsidised rate when the country was dying. 😁

Theflint1 just like I predicted and weekend never end sef. Yet we dey claim say guns are not a problem in Nigeria already and readily available to criminals

https://www.nairaland.com/8160235/gunmen-defy-curfew-kill-18

Gunmen suspected to be bandits invaded Mbacher community in Mbacher Council Ward, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State on Friday night, killing 18 people.

Sources from the local government told our correspondent that the attack took place around 11:00 pm, despite the curfew imposed by the state government.

The bandits were said to have gathered the villagers under the pretense of addressing them before opening fire.

Recall that the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, had two weeks ago imposed a 6:00 pm to 6:00 am curfew in the Sankera axis following a violent protest in Ukum LGA. The Sankera axis, comprising Katsina-Ala, Ukum, and Logo, has been a hotspot for criminal activities in the state.
This is state failure at play, there are several countries that are safe that didn't have to make gun use liberal before they achieved that safety.

America doesn't enjoy domestic safety because gun use is liberalized, they're safe because they have a police force that's professional and well trained plus they don't do catch and release, you do crime, you'd do time.
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OkpaNsukkaisBae(m): 1:54pm On Jul 21
The governor should come and deny or counter his claim. At least all the former Lagos governors are still alive.

Bayo Onanuga/Reno should come and counter his claim.

I distinctly recall the Dangote Group confirming the raid and calling it an "unwarranted embarrassment".
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-01-11/nigeria-s-business-community-unnerved-after-aliko-dangote-office-raid

I guess we're back to running the Buhari "not aware" narrative.

-Lord

The raid was purely performative as is usually the case with these government agencies.

What were they expecting to find?, A cash bag of dollars?

CBN/Emefiele was being investigated for significant amount of dollars they alloted to different companies; around 60 of them - which was given to them under a special window. They wrote to these companies to provide evidence of use of these funds as it was common knowledge that most of them were just roundtripping the FX.

Read the below. Like I said, I'll rather believe a PLC than a useless government agency

I'm only pushing back against the idea that Tinubu is completely absolved from whatever is going on between his government and Dangote.
These guys have had it in for Dangote for over a decade. After Dangote and Otedola bought a refinery under OBJ, they got it reversed under Yar'Adua.
GEJ and Buhari kept the wolves at bay and gave him every support they could.
Then Tinubu enters, refinery is rolling out products, and now there are issues. But Tinubu has no hand...

I agree with Larride that this will be resolved.
But Dangote will sweat a little and Tinubu will drag his feet.

There's no narrative anywhere. Most agencies do not even require the President express order to do something they are constitutionally empowered to do.

You are smart enough to know the President won't be everywhere or even know some things that were happening.

That's how we were hearing that Meffy had already concluded the naira design with the board before informing Buhari of it.

Funnily enough, nobody has stopped anybody from importing fuel or diesel.

So, why isn't it cheaper, since monopoly hasn't started?

.......I am not against him. All I am saying is simple and straight forward - enough of games. We are/were dragged here many times cos he keeps shifting dates for PMS production.

I am only asking him to come clean and be sincere with the Refinery. If it ain't ready for production of PMS, he should let us know.

Thank God he said 12th of next month, hope he ain't gonna shift it again.

It was the same Mele Kyari that was CEO of NNPC during Buhari tenure that is still the CEO till now. It was the same Mele Kyari that promised Dangote crude oil and then went ahead to use the same crude oil to borrow funds during both Buhari and now Tinubu admin which lead to Dangote first complaining about the delay of receiving crude from NNPC.

I'm all for both of them to dirty their linen on public so we know what exactly the issues are and see who is fleecing us.

Tinubu will drag his feet because most of these issues and agreement were inherited from the past admin and a reasonable leader will try to understand what's happening before intervening. That's why I said whatever is happening between them will be resolved in due time.

Dangote has been accompanying the President on most of his economic trips and is part of the economic advisory council, there's little or nothing to suggest both men are fighting each other.

Well, dont know much about the political side of things but I'll be rooting for Dangote in this whole refinery brouhaha.

Irrespective of reservations people may have about him, he's the lesser evil in this refinery story. The earlier they resolve, the better for the economy

Exchange rate. Normally fuel should be more expensive than it is currently. The government is currently paying subsidy whether they deny it or not.

I believe the sensible thing should've been looking for a way to get Dangote refinery to start producing fuel and redirect whatever subsidy they are paying to Dangote to make the price even crash down the more since Dangote won't include landing cost and all to his own price template.

Mele Kyari just dey give us new dates everytime for the start of PH refinery.

I know naa

That's why i am surprised the marketers are shouting Monopoly, and a DG of an agency will come and say rubbish, and Nigerians go clap for am

They should go and import fuel at 75 kobo per litre naa.

What is man without agenda!! But on serious note, the question some of us asked that time and we were tagged enemies of progress was how possible it was for the Refinery to start production within the time frame they said seeing how quickly Buhari rushed to commission it.

Today, the questions and doubts are validated.

....well Dangote has assured to make PMS available nex month, 12th or 13th of next month, that's all matter to me now.

Dangote case is more like the more you see the less you understand. Its simply a game. Cabals are fighting back definitely but Dangote ain't a saint either.

Why did he invite PMB to commission the Refinery when he knew its not even close to producing anything. Funny thing is; some of the folks defending him now, especially on this thread, once trusted David Hundeyin's jokes on the Refinery.

Thought the Refinery was a ruse to them?! Thought the Refinery ain't gonna be producing anything, rather Dangote will be using it mainly for importation then selling to Nigerians?! LOL!

grin

......sigh!

These people really don't get sense. How this post actually means Oasis is denying Dangote?! Comprehension Problem?! LOL!

.....honestly that's my hope with the sad news too. They start with Diesel and jet fuel. Hope its gonna bring down Diesel price to like ₦300 per litre. This will help manufacturing firms to increase their productivities and reduce their prices.

It will also help to reduce food inflation as well, cos cheap transportation of foodstuff means cheap price at marketplaces.

Domestic flight may reduce their fares too, if jet fuel price crashes.
