izzou:That's sad then, but it's funny that Dangote is making business decisions based on what people will say. |

izzou: Lmaooo was it a free tradezone when he got the land? Is that a factor into why an acre cost 2m |

izzou: $100m divided by 2635 hectare = $37,950 per hectare or roughly around $3,415 per plot (100FT by 100FT). At the time of the deal (should be later than 2014/15 and a black market exchange rate of $1=250?), that equates around #850K per plot (100FT by 100FT standard plot o). Lagos State Government definitely gave Dangote a good deal for the land because they know the value the refinery will provide for the state in the long run if not, the value of that land is easily 5-10X higher than what Dangote paid. 1 Like |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 4:24pm On Jul 21 |
USAfall2024: As at the time Dangote bought it, can you pay 850k for a plot, inside the bush? Na now the place get value. Who was going to buy 1 acre in Lakowe 10 years ago? It was a good deal, but it wasn't awoof as prosper is painting it. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Itzlinda(f): 4:41pm On Jul 21 |
USAfall2024: No bro. That price can't be 5x for a land inside bush. It's good deal tho |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Itzlinda(f): 4:43pm On Jul 21 |
izzou: Ask am. That 850k is like 5 meter now 🤣🤣 |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by USAfall2024: 4:45pm On Jul 21 |
izzou: Tbh, I am not really familiar with the real estate market but I think even as far as 2013, people close to me bought lands north of 1m per plot (mostly 50ft by 100ft plots) in such areas. Now same land will be north of 5m per plot due to the recent development. I saw this image from Nairaland search to further buttress my point. Modified: Maybe I exaggerated in my last post but the deal was a good deal for Dangote.

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 4:54pm On Jul 21 |
USAfall2024: From your screenshots, a plot is 1.5 million, and these places are even closer to Civilisation then, compared to where Dangote is (I can see Crown Estate there) And someone is willing to pay 850k for more than 5000 plots. Bros, you sef check am naa. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by seankafor(m): 4:54pm On Jul 21 |
They could've done ✅ better on the CGI on those about to die Nice storyline as am a fan of Roman empire movies But the CGI especially that of the lion is wack |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 4:55pm On Jul 21 |
Itzlinda: The refinery and sea port is what brought value to that area. Was anybody willing to pay 500k inside bush? Even till you get to Epe, na empty land full there. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by USAfall2024: 5:02pm On Jul 21 |
izzou: I give up, you are right Bro😭. Be like na current prices of land make me overestimate the value of the deal. It was a fairly cheap purchase at best then but definitely not “free”.
