Question: if the diesel being churned out by Dangote Refinery was of very low quality (according to the regulator's boss) compared to the imported product, why did the regulator approve his own diesel to be released into the market?

One of the biggest mistake Dangote made was not siting the Refinery in the Niger Delta area or close to it.
The Modular refinery in Benin is doing well for past two years without any issue on crude supply. They get their crude supply from Ologbo and Oghara axis.

The refinery BUA group is building in Akwa Ibom state will do well because it's close to many oil wells.

You dey use fly compare with ostrich? Those modular refineries have an insignificant refining capacity. Even if Dangote built this refinery in the ND region, it will change nothing.

How can you be comparing modular refineries that produce 5k to 100k bpd to a Dangote that needs 650k bpd?

Guy, forget ND region. That region is troublesome. That's why the IOCs are selling off their assets. This is one of the major causes of this problem Dangote is facing now.
