ElevationD: The Ikwerre are saying you are their vassals. That means the Ibo migrated to their present locations from under the Ikwerre, hence the similarity of language and lexicon..... The Ibo need to give this argument a rest. If they say they are Ikwerre and not Ibo,then the Ibo should leave them alone except the Ibo interests lie in something else which I personally believe they do. 3 Likes |

confusedlady: âVassalsâ? And yet Ikwerre cannot show proof of distinct identity from the Igbos? How can you have similarity of language, yet not the same people? Oh, so you are saying that Ikwerre people speak Igbo as their language, as they cannot find their own distinct language in history? Or they are not longer able to differentiate between themselves and Igbo people? Can I then put it to you that there is no distinct Ikwerre language, as you cannot give us the Ikwerre versions of those words and names? âMigrated to the present locationâ? And yet Ikwerres say they are not Igbos? Confused lady wetin na? You don confuse be that o. 2 Likes |

ElevationD: Thanks for the Ad hominem. I did not say this. Ikwerre historians said it. I posted a video for you to watch but apparently you did not watch it. You did not watch it,not because you don't have data but because you are stuck on your agenda and what you have been fed for ages. If you watch the video, you will see a different Ikwerre point of view that Ibos are actually vassals of the Ikwerre. Ikwerre migrated from Benin to their present locations while the Ibos who were vassals to the Ikwerre migrated from under Ikwerre to their present locations and towns. This is the reason for the similarity of language and lexicon. You need to imbibe a flexible nature and try to read widely. Never maintain a rigid and inflexible idea of African history because much of the history pre writing was passed on by oral traditions. confusedlady: Igbo migrated from Ikwerre land they claim they came to their current location in 1538? Do not be as dumb as that beer parlour historian whose name is Igbo. So Ikwerre people are less than 500 years old? Well the land they occupy is Igboland and when time comes they will be pushed back to bini land where they came from. 1 Like |

saddler: That tiny dot is larger than many nations in the world today. That dot is larger than Israel and Palentine put together. since they claim to be migrants in their current location they will be moved back by the original land owners when time is right.1538 that is less than 500 years ago is not far when they left their Bini ancestral home they will be able to trace their root back home. And who are you to determine if Igbo will rule Nigeria again or not?Btw there is no position in Nigeria that an Igbo haven't occupied before. From the first president to first military head of state to first vice president to army chief of staff to first senate president name it. |

In as much as I don't care which ethnicity the ikwere chose to identify as or which ethnic group they chose to trace their origin from, but let tell ourselves the truth, can any bini person tell us the meaning of AKALAKA in their native tongue? Secondly, can the bini royal palace show us undisputed record of someone with such name who was once a member of the royal family? AKALAKA is clearly an Igbo name meaning DESTINY, so it's clear the AKALAKA is probably an Igbo man who lived closed to bini kingdom who may have fled bini hostility and moved down southwards to the present day River state. How I wish the greater Igbo race will just ignore this ikwere people and their self delusions, when the right time comes they'll beg to be assimilated back into the fold of Igbo race. Few weeks ago, a video of wike singing and jollying in Igbo dialects surfaced, you then wondered how come people who claimed to be from the royal house of bini, will forget their entire language in such a short period of time but be speaking another ethnic dialect so perfectly. 1 Like |

confusedlady: So you are simply copying and pasting? I am reading and thinking. But you have become an Ikwerre historian too with the picture that you paint. When you say someone is your vassal, you infer that you are feudal and the person owes allegiance to you. Is that correct? Assuming but not conceding that Igbos owe allegiance to Ikwerres, how is it that the Igbo nation and boundaries are far bigger and completely able to become a country of their own? The truth remains that there are various versions of the theory of evolution of Ikwerre people. In all, it is impossible to eliminate the Igboness in the Ikwerre people, no matter how you try hard to wish it away. Sadly one does not understand the reason for the disagreement. One hopes that someday we can get the exact historical information and rest the case. For now, while the agitation for more SE states take the center, Ikwerre is projected to be one of those areas to be included. |

ElevationD: @Bolded, Can you provide a link to this assertion? As for your question on how Ibo became a bigger nation than the Ikwerre? History abounds with smaller nation states producing bigger states. You need to read up on a political theory called DIALETICS- the counter forces between THESES and ANTITHESES to produce a SYNTHESES. (The theory of two forces coming together in conflict to produce a new force) Out of this ashes rises the phoenix. A new nation can come out of an old nation. 1 Like |

Itâs obvious heâs suffering from some kind of mental impairment or personality disorder driven by hate and a large dose of bile! The useless âprofâ is yet another post-war revisionist prepared to revise history and throw facts under the bus in his bid to try and please his hegemonic masters! I suppose his answer to your well-reasoned argument would be that over the past 200 years, or thereabouts, the Igbo organised meetings in which they plotted and schemed to see to it that the âthose recently arrived immigrants from Benin Kingdom lost their Benin language and replaced it with Igboâ! Thatâs the only âexplanationâ he can come up with, and assuming this was the case, shouldnât we be clapping for those Igbo of 200 years, or so, ago for effectively hatching and executing such a plot!!? This falls into the category of teacher no teach me nonsenseâŚ..or in his case, professor no profess me nonsense! 1 Like |

ElevationD: You are presenting a 66 year old report which has been overtaken by the 1979 constitution that has since recognised the Ikwerre people as a seperate people not affiliated to any other tribe. You need to Google and read up about these things. As for my tribe,I am not an Ikwerre but I am interested in the minority tribes issues. I am totally against Ibo supremacist agenda which seeks to gobble up the minorities because of desire to access the sea area. I am not against Ibos but I am totally opposed to an Ibo supremacist agenda that does not consider the rights of minority tribes. 2 Likes |

confusedlady: Where is the supremacist agenda? A 66 year old report according to you, yet it is the history of a particular group of people? So by inference we should discard first hand historical information to satisfy what the constitution says? How can you wish it away? So you want to say today that the Yorubas, who find their history in Oduduwa, should wipe it away if the constitution says so? Again, we should wish away the Benin age long traditions can be wished away because of the constitution? Confused lady, are you truly not confused? Sadly you are not an Ikwerre person and presently show very clear and unnecessary bias. You do not speak the language, so you just spent time leafing through pages on the internet in search of information to buttress your claim. No wonder you could not say those words in Ikwerre language. I advise you to ask an Ikwerre person to translate those words into their own language, to confirm to you if there is any difference. You should not be so passionate about it as you do not understand the feeling. Unfortunately you also have not stated your own tribe. In all, the Igboid nature of the Ikwerres cannot be wished away. 1 Like |

ElevationD: @Bolded, This is the third time you are going Ad hominem on me. I believe we can debate without insults at monikers. My reason for that moniker is tongue in cheek because when I joined this forum there were a lot of fake Christians in the religion section and I used that moniker to move against false and fake doctrines by pretending to be confused and not knowledgeable about the contents of the Bible. I am on the politics section to oppose Ibo supremacist agenda, which is the belief that Ibos are superior to other tribes and an agenda to dominate, subjugate and conquer other tribes spiritually, culturally and economically. A 66 year report can not superceed the constitution that recognises a tribe as a stand alone people that are an independent entity and a seperate people. Once again except the Ibo have a hidden agenda, they need to leave the Ikwerre people alone. They don't want to associate with the Ibo. They want to be alone and free. Why are the Ibo trying to force them to be part of an Ibo nation? Please free the Ikwerre people to be on their own. They don't want to associate with you. It is not by force to be together. 1 Like |
