That's not how it works. Barcelona is literally the most popular club in the South Americas including Brazil. One situation like this, will not be enough to change that.

Yes Roque situation is not the best. But if Hansi Flick also shares the same opinion about Roque as Xavi did, then the issue is with the player. You also need to make alot of effort from your end. Coming to Barca from Brazil is not the end itself. You have to work hard to earn you position and your salary to stay at the club.

However, I do not think Barca has done its reputation ill. This kind of situation can happen all the time.

The only person i am blaming is Deco. He caused all these. Bringing a player the coach does not need or he may not have the level to play at the club. And spending 40m euros at it, at a time the club is having financial difficulties, is unforgivable in my opinion.
