Anti-Government Protest: Threats Won’t Work – Femi Falana Tells FG by adenigga(m): 4:34am On Jul 24
Activist lawyer Femi Falana said no threat from the government or any quarters can stop the looming nationwide protests scheduled to begin on August 1.

DAILY POST reports that some organisations and even the presidency had issued statements condemning the planned nationwide protests aimed at drawing the attention of the Federal Government to the prevailing hardship in the country.

Speaking on Channels TV on Tuesday, Falana urged the FG to identify the organisers of the protest and engage them in productive dialogue.

He said: “They have a way of contacting themselves and I think the government can draw some lessons from that 2020 (#EndSars) experience. Identify those who are planning the protest and then engage with them productively.

“Threat will not work. In fact, the action of the government has a way of popularising such protests.

“Nobody listens to such warnings. This time around, the government should identify the leaders of the movement and have some dialogue with them. There are demands that are being raised, the government should address those demands.”

Increase the volume please.

Do you guys notice nairaland is now overwhelmed by APC keyboard warriors? Like they act like a mob on any thread that hits Frontpage and unleash anti-protrests comments. Then they use other monikers to like their comments.

Threats or no threats, progress is still being made.

The government is focused on delivering results, and those who truly want change should engage positively rather than protest negatively.

Let's support constructive dialogue instead!

"When tyranny & oppression come to the land, it will be in the guise of fighting crime". James Madison (U.S President 1809-1817)
".....The current state of Nigeria is dire. Hardship is suffocating us, and many are dying from hunger. The time for action is now. We, the Nigerian youths, must come together and exercise our right to protest. It's our duty to demand change, to demand a better life.

For too long, we've been silenced, intimidated, and deceived. Our leaders have failed us, and it's time we hold them accountable. The protest is not just a call to action; it's a cry for help, a plea for our leaders to listen and act.

We're not just protesting against the government; we're protesting against a system that perpetuates inequality, injustice, and corruption. We're protesting against a system that allows our leaders to live in luxury while we struggle to survive.

The protest is not just about us; it's about our future, our children's future, and the future of Nigeria. We owe it to ourselves, our families, and our country to demand a better life.

Falana again?

This is the same man that loves to grandstand.

Instead of constructive dialogue, he’s just fueling more division. Threats or no threats, what’s he really doing to help the situation? Just another lawyer chasing clout.

The worst is that these animals in government have not accepted that they have failed and still failing, they go on robbing their smelling shits on the face of Nigerians.
Bad governance shouldn't be condoned by well meaning Nigerians,it is destroying the future of Nigerians unborn.

If Tinubu was in the mold of a great leader, you will see him come out on live TV and deliver a powerful speech (not pre-recorded) on the current situation, and back it up with immediate actions and people go calm down small.

But instead, even if he comes out, he will end up licking microphone and talking balablu bulaba. grin

Sincerely...
Though I think and know oppositions are the ones fueling the protest.

But people ( the masses) are truly suffering for real at the highest point ever

Any Tinubu/APC supporters trying to bash the proposed protest and protesters is either getting from the embezzlement by the minority or just a useless miserable being.

The short term solution now I believe is.... Tinubu should just address the nation and monitor delivery of food lorries to Every local governments by himself from a control room.

And the public distributions to the people openly like the inec polling registrations and all style of openness

Then after that, he can then pump money on real agricultural process the same way as well.
