Actually, we don't earn minimum wages in Nigeria. Instead, we earn salaries. In other words, what the president approved was a minimum salary. I think they need to work out minimum wages as well.

The first person he needs to ask this direct question is the tailor who sews his African attires of they pay that amount to those they employ.

It applied to federal government workers ONLY except for states where their governor is looking for second term or rich states like Lagos Delta and 1 or 2 others no state is paying 70k minimum wage talkless of local government workers. Private schools will continue to pay 15k salary to their teachers and that's a fact

COST OF PRODUCTION IS SO HIGH IN NIGERIA THAT IT IS VERY HARD FOR SMEs TO STAY AFLOAT TALK MORE OF PROFIT!

Most local government will not pay even with their recently granted autonomy

The last minimum wage stated the any establishment that has less than 25 staff is exempted from paying minimum wage. I don't know if that part has been repealed and if they did, that will be dumb of them because most establishments and individuals cannot pay and workers would rather make do with what their immediate employer can offer than endlessly searching for who will pay 70k while their bills will not wait for them
