First of all, it's not a protest by any sense of the word.

You don't announce a protest or even make its date known to the govt.

Wisdomkosi:
OPINION : Four Reasons You Should Think Before Joining The Nationwide Protest

By Wisdom Nwedene

Ahead of the planned nationwide protest scheduled to kick off on August 1st, 2024, I strongly believe that Nigerian Youth should think twice before joining the protest.

Though, there are genuine reasons for the protest but I have four strong reasons which made me to believe that this protest is not in the best interest of the country at the moment.

Below are my reasons

1. The organisers Of The Protest Are Faceless Individuals : It's crystal clear that those organising this protest are not known till now. I recommend that this type of protest should have leaders that should be calling the shots in case things go wrong. In a protest where everyone is a leader, many things can happen. The organisers should be at the forefront, leading the protesters and controlling the crowd so that things won't go wrong.

2. Thugs Can Hijack The Protest: It's very difficult to organise a peaceful protest in a country battling with bandits, criminals, hoodlums and expect things to go fine.

3. It's Still Early To Judge Tinubu’s Government : I still believe that it's too early to judge Tinubu’s Administration by leading this type of heavy protest against him. Despite that his policies are too harsh, Tinubu still needs time to address issues and bad policies of previous administrations.

4 All of us can still remember what happened during the EndSARS protest. Many lives were lost and property worth billions of Naira destroyed. How sure are we that this Nationwide won't degenerate to what happened during EndSARS protest? I think we should think twice. We can't afford to lose more lives and our national assets destroyed again just like what is happening in Kenya.

The point number one is baseless. We all know that if you are a known protest pioneer in this country, you become a threat to the government. Likewise, the government and all beneficiaries of corruption become a threat to your life and that of your loved ones. So I actually think being faceless is a great strategy.

Lol... Expect more of such Anti-protests posts all over social media and the internet. grin

Just imagine the amount of money and resources being expended and paid to Clowns to water down a protest.

Yet they can't make speedy and intentional efforts to mitigate insecurity and hardships.

What a Democracy!

They are afraid of protest but they staged it under the regime of another man. You can't eat your cake and have it. Even if the protest don't happen now, am sure before the end of next year, it will happen....
You can't subject the masses to serious hardship and you expect them to keep quiet meanwhile you and your supporters staged protests on another man's regime that never subjected the masses to this type of hardship. Imagine a bag of rice is #80,000 and you expect people to be happy

Then how else can the message of hunger and poverty reach the government? As it is they have no idea and don't care for the people under their pledge to protect and serve they only act as if they are doing something about it as of today Naira has slided further to N1, 575 to the dollar, food at 400% inflated and rising wat measures are they still insisting is in place when everything is in disarray. Tinubu your policies are not working they are a disaster

My own personal reasons why u shouldn't join protest are
1. Other countries facing hardship are not led by APC government
2. The hardship is a global issue
3. Confirm if the hardship is in Kenya Bangladesh sudan lybia us uk before joining
4. He just upgraded minimum wage and yet it's just too early .
5. If you die during protest doesn't mean Nigerians will not eat and drink garri.
Those that died during endears is gone forever

6. Join protest at your own risk
7. Army gave warnings not to join because if u do what happened in 20th August endears might repeat itself .
8. When coronal virus dey na worldwide.
Even ebola , even monkey bus , even lockdown na worldwide issues now that there is global inflation so u want Nigeria not to be affect ?

U are joking .

Subsidy removal or not 🚫
There is a global inflation crises .
Please confirm if you have people in other countries including the so called UK US euro asian etc .

Abeg use that same protest energy to start farm at your backyard Biko ☹️

Quit talking rubbish and do some damn research!

In those other nations, the following don't happen:

1. 90 Billion to renovate VP's residence.

2. Spend 100 Billion subsidising Pilgrimage.

3. Spending Billions importing cars for Senators and Reps.

4. Wasting Billions on medical tourism and touring the globe for needless reasons.

5. Failure to end insecurity which has worsened food production.

How many of those nations facing global inflation do over 60% of their citizens earn below $40 per month as minimum wage or spend over 70% of their minimum wages on feeding alone?!!

How many of those nations have the shocking and sickening level of Corruption seen in Nigeria?!!
