I would prefer Rinsola ahead of Kanu
Randy left Rinsola at home. Infact when the lady was available, he still didn't play her. Somebody said Randy doesn't fancy her.

Which is the point I was making days ago that some folks were arguing. Nigeria traditional gets our strikers from our age grade team and we get them into the team at a very young age.

Asisat, Oparanozie, Ajibade, Ordega etc all came from u17/u20 directly into the falcons because they were exceptional at that age. Now we have killed our age grade teams for politics. This isn't just peculiar to the falcons, it's the same with the super eagles.

For the SuperFalcons is getting worse right away, How did Stella Mbachu stay long in the team? It was because of her pace & footballing sense.
As they were aging out the likes of Sarah Michael, Cynthia Uwak, Chiichii Igbo and co were already on standby… As this ones were going out, the likes of Desire Oparanozie, Ebere Orji, Uchechi Sunday, Amenze Aighwewhi, Esther Sunday, Franny Ordega where already there, Ajibade, Kanu and Ihezuo did come from the age grade process too..

But right now the once the Youth teams are dishing out ain’t up to it at all… Danjuma and co are also the contributing, they want to see home based players in the team and how many of them have they been able to produced?

Before we would get another Asisat Oshoala again it might take God knows years..

At least Esther Okoronkwo have always justified her inclusion in the team…

Against Japan I will go with Esther, Oshoala and Ajibade upfront if Esther is fit..

I will love to see Macleans start or come from the bench for Osho.

I expected Macleans to come on instead of ihezuo.. when ihezuo missed that chance against Brazil I told myself if I was the coach that will be her last match as CF at least and I would bench her for this game against Spain...

Now she has also missed against Spain that means for me that's her last match for the SF...

her shots are too tame and she acts timid in front goal... how she became a striker is what I don't understand..

even Ajibade that should have shot the ball was doing finesse shot.. instead of shooting with her big toe abd front of her boots....
grin grin grin grin

The way you analyze football eh..

Oshoala & Abiodun won my heart today.
They really showed their class in my opinion
Don’t know why coach took out Ucheibe though
Demehin has a long way to go before she can be as great as Ohale
Giving away unnecessary free kick around your box carelessly.
Overall they did good. Tactics was spot on but tiny margins & capitalizing on errors win games
We didn’t take our chances

Imagine the excuse flying around eh.. 'But it is Spain we played' ... 'Any other team would have been beaten by 4 goals'

Let me ask, did they forbid us from beating big teams? The girls tried. We could have won if not for missed chances. But then let's do away with these 'bigger team' excuses.

Seriously.

I don't think the Super Eagles can face the male versions of Brazil and Spain and lose by just 1 nil o 😂

The Falcons defence is too disciplined.

🚨It’s a job well done for USA as they have blown Germany away with ease to claim a win and automatically book a spot in the quarterfinals of the Olympics women’s game.

FT: 🇺🇸USA 4-1 🇩🇪Germany

NFF should retain Randy Waldrum
On the conditions that he wins Afcon
They can let him go if he doesn’t get to World Cup quarter finals in 2027.
If they bring in another coach, it will destabilize progress & we’d be back to square one.
Getting to the Olympics after 16 years was no easy feat
Although he didn’t get his team list accurately spot on
Too many strikers, no alternative natural left footed left back, 2 central midfielders

The biggest thing we need for the team right now is fast and athletic forwards/Wingers so that when they gets the ball they can opens up the offense for their teammates, run at Defenders and get them confused..

An unselfish one though that will put the team first not individual accolades.

Guess The only team yet to score at this Olympics.

Yeah.

Verdict: The Attacking section of the team is too wack for the defensive contributions we see. Everyone else has scored at least a goal. We carry strikers(that may not even play 5mins las las) and the disjointed performance up front. I'm afraid this Randy era will be remembered only for the Defensive Quality, especially if this attack doesn't take a drastic U-turn before the next wafcon.

Many say the team is doing okay. I disagree. Others say we dey play big teams. But we can't even score when everyone else has scored. If you know me well, you won't take this my pov otherwise. It is what it is. This is a terrible outing already. And lack of adequate preparation is also at the helm. Kon be like we swap preparation mode go give Ghana.

The fast and athletic wingers are already there..

What's needed is finishing.. so they need to work on their finishing training as a team.

And to finish the team needs more players running forward to support the player that is through on goal..

The cohesiveness we need up front is not here right now. We are thriving on individual performance in opponents box. This aspect needs to be buried after this tournament and it can't unless we rival Ghana's form of playing games. We need more games to test everyone and cohesion as well. It is lacking. Disjointed is the theme of this group stage so far up front. A better showing that the Brazil game but still way way lower than the WWC level.
