Is the NNPCL not in the same oil business as Dangote? Has anyone seen a sane economy anywhere in the world where a competing business [NNPCL] makes regulations for another competing business [Dangote] to follow? Then you realize it's Nigeria we're talking about. A country where economic theories go to die.

Don't just make a statement like this without attempting an explanation. You don't have the right to hate on the wealthy just because you are poor.

Dangote refinery must not be allowed to fail. Government should support the business to our own advantage.

NNPC can allocate 300,000 barrels to him solely for refining and sales in the Nigerian Market at a reasonable price. They should sell the crude to him in Naira.

Then he can buy the difference from abroad or IOCs here in dollars, refine and export to other countries and make good money too.

It's a win-win for everyone.

Dangote himself should know he can't get the full 650,000 barrels per day locally. The previous and current administration have already used most of what we produce to take foreign loans with little or nothing to show for it. That's the reality of things.

Too many illiterates on this forum. Opec quota only applies to what you export.
You can produce unlimited amount and supply unlimited amount locally within your country.

keep quite if you don't understand a topic next time

Why can't Tinubu fire Kyari?, I honestly don't get it. Don't tell me the Tinubu does not have the power to fire.

Same way Buhari refused to fire Emefiele from the outset.

Dumb ass abokis.
Why should anyone else import petrol? In the first case, what is the purpose of refinary being built if it is not to stop importation?
What monopoly are you taking about? Nnpc rather is the one that should be accused of monopoly since it owns 4 refinaries! Why has Nnpc refinaries not worked despite billions of dollars pumped into them in the past few years? They have moved resumption days on a monthly basis without an clear date, failure every time.
Obviously the canals will not allow dangote as there are deeply entrenched interest right from the top corridors of power to the bottom in Nigeria.
Dangote came prepared to solve the fuel problem, eg his tanker loading facility, enough to load 100s of tanks in minutes will close down all the tank farms all over Lagos, ogun, ondo and some other parts of the country. Then what will happen to owners of those businesses? Those too are against dangote. Do you know calibration of depot meters are accepted to be flawed? Eg buy 1000 liters of diesel and officially you only get 900-920 liters of diesel! Entrenched cheating making certain people rich. Meanwhile dangotes loading facility if fully accurate and digital. No more chace for such magomo.

“We are calling on the National Assembly to make public the laboratory results from his own refinery because information we are getting from different sources indicates that the products are substandard."

I have repeatedly stated, and will continue to emphasize, that Aliko Dangote is a serial monopolist. His profits serve more of his own interests, than those of Nigerians.

He planned to complete his refinery during President Buhari’s tenure, anticipating unrestricted crude allocations and funding from CBN Governor Emefiele. Now that he is required to adhere to regulations, he is reacting poorly.

It is unreasonable for Dangote to demand control of the market without having produced a single drop of petrol. In more regulated environments, a new refinery would be required to operate for at least 12 months before being eligible to bid for government supply contracts. Additionally, the quality of its products would undergo rigorous laboratory testing.

Yet, Dangote, with no prior experience in the oil and gas sector, expects to be handed control of the NNPC overnight. This expectation is both unrealistic and unfair.
Why bring in imported/adulterated product when you have a local refiner with good quality product

I honestly do not want to believe that. A few days ago Tinubu said there were no Cabals. He is the Commander in Chief of Armed Forces of Nigeria. The ball rest on his court and if he refuses to fire Kyari, the only reasonable conclusion is that Kyari s acting as a spokesman for the president.

He is the best quality on day 1.

Lets be realistic, would you have an operation from a surgeon who graduated school yesterday ?
Dangote has to be tested first, let him produce let us see.

Look at these illiterates mentioning competition!! Where is the competition? The oil importation that we have been trying to stop for about 60 years is now the competition to local refineries? Let's tell the illiterate Arewa youths that importation can never be regarded as competition to local production.

Arewa youths are mostly illiterates, I don't expect them to understand how Tinubu is undermining the success of 20 billion dollars investment just to protect his blending plants in Malta and to keep the business of oil importation from Malta going smoothly.

You spoke well until you started rehashing those lies about taking loans. Futures contracts are not loans. They are hedges not loans.
It is actually this govt that used a portion of our oil to take a loan from Afreximbank

This refinery is not well thought out,why build a 600bbl/d d largest in d world without first securing a supply deal, why not secured oil wells first,no questions ask why others given refinery licence over d years refused to build?he thought because he is Any government in power friend (AGIPF) he will always have his way...not knowing their is "No permanent friend but permanent selfish interest".
