datola:I pray oo. Make dem no buy at 5 naira and sell at 7 naira oo. This could be the reason they've been fighting this man, after he said his petrol would hit the market in August. It will be a bad market for the nnpc and their substandard imported fuel. There will be a huge price difference which will further expose corruption in the sector but they're trying their best to avoid that. Awon ole 1 Like |

Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by gabbasin(m): 7:59am On Jul 29 |
Sadly, this is the reality, NNPC is the sole importer of petrol because it's being subsidized, Dangote will sell petrol at international price as it's being done with diesel and aviation fuel because he got the crude at international rate, no marketer can buy from Dangote to compete with imported petrol subsidized by NNPC. I believe there must have been a template already to take care of this when Dangote refinery starts rolling out petrol. If not that petrol is being subsidized in Nigeria, the price would have been at par with that of diesel and Jet A1 1 Like |

So what you’re trying to say is that there’s still subsidy on pms while baba told us that subsidy is gone |
Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by Eriokanmi: 7:59am On Jul 29 |
Chinkoalhaji34:Yes, because his price will expose the NNPC corruption in the sector if they didn't monopolise the midstream and Downstream by taking over. They've been running up and down, threatening dangote since he made that announcement that his petrol would hit the market by August. Imagine the same people who alleged that his products were substandard, to now be the only organisation to buy dangote fuel . If you no gerit, forgerrit |
Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by nedekid: 7:59am On Jul 29 |
jkpbestseries:Exactly! How will he import crude, refine it and then sell in naira? It seems government is making money from the importation of petrol and so does not want it stopped. |

Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by Godfullsam(m): 8:02am On Jul 29 |
jkpbestseries: I think the issue of crude supply has been resolved. FG wants to supply him crudes at international price rate and they wants him to purchase it in US dollars the same way they are selling to international communities but Dangote wants to buy Nigeria crude in naira. |

I can see your intelligence from afar! Why did NNPCL agreed on owning 20% of the share of the company at inception? And reneged just of recent? I can tell you the initial agreement of NNPCL with Dangote was out patritism, to ensure energy security but anything happening now is because of vested interest which is not good for Nigeria energy security. I can see a lot of ignorance. Those who can read are blaming NNPCL and FG Dangote is a business man and he has no intention of subsidizing anything or helping anyone. Has he ever sold Cement cheaper than Large and BUA? That Monopoly thing is real. NNPCL knows what they're saying about Dangote.[/quote] |
Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by Asonaijaaso: 8:07am On Jul 29 |
Mayeldah: Sounds like you are planning to hold the FGN Hostage. He is a private business man. Nigeria owes him no allocation Neither does he owe Nigeria any Petrol. He has to play by the rules, because even if spends money buying internationally, he might not be able to compete with international petrol sellers. Because he is spending to much money in (midstream) transportation from USA to Nigeria. |

Asonaijaaso:Yes its very correct he cant buy crude at international rate n sell less.Right now,d cost of landing petrol in Nigeria is more than 1000 naira.d current price is been subsidized by government even though they are denying. Same way, nigeria will hav to sell crude to dangote at subsidized rate to enable him sell product cheaper.dont forget there is also cost of transportation by ship for this products imported into d country.las las it will be hard for dangote to sell below d current price as our exchange to a dollar is terrible n he is buying in dollars.i tink d only government will gain frm dangote refinery is better quality fuel n savings on fx as they could buy products in naira. |
Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by Asonaijaaso: 8:13am On Jul 29 |
IamANigerianMan: Dangote will not sell PMS at a cheaper rate. Ask me why ? He gets free limestone, free land, free import waivers, tax concessions on cement manufacturing.....but cement prices are not cheaper than other manufacturers who pay for all these things. If he buys crude oil at market prices, he will definitely sell petrol at market prices, because his margins are even narrower than than his cement business. Nigerians think Dangote will subsidize petrol. No he will not !! |

Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by Timmi: 8:15am On Jul 29 |
Asonaijaaso: The reason is obvious, Nigeria refused to sell Dangote refinery crude oil, hence the refinery is importing crude oil from USA, Brazil, etc. The cost reduction was to come from transportation costs of crude oil on one hand and refined oil to Nigeria. We (Nigerians) are our own worst enemy. |
Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by Mrexcell(m): 8:17am On Jul 29 |
But dangote refinery was able to reduce the price of diesel so why can't they also reduce the price of fuel or sell at the current market rate? |
Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by Onewazobia(m): 8:17am On Jul 29 |
Chinkoalhaji34: . Push which economy? He will still sell the same price even though when the cost of production here is far lower than most if not all countries (Refinery) across the world. If I may ask , please what's the benefits of hosting such company to the masses |
Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by Asonaijaaso: 8:17am On Jul 29 |
bdon123: That doesnt solve the problem, if you are asking them to subsidize crude oil to Dangote. We are still paying subsidy. As long as we are paying subsidy, whether its imported petrol or crude oil to Dangote. Nothing will change. Nobody is yet to explain how Dangote refinery will make petrol cheaper. Dangote refinery will sell expensive fuel because he has to pay back loans he used to build his refinery. I am sure Dangote refinery will sell petrol even more expensive than importation. Dont forget he is still a newcomer to the refinery world. He is a refinery virgin. He has to learn a lot before he becomes an expert. |
