If landing cost is N1117 per litre that means this govt still pays subsidy. So Tinubu lied when he said subsidy is gone.

Yep because it costs money to make petrol

SO, either IPMAN sells at the international standard, or begs government for subsidy payments totalling two thirds of our budget.

That's going to be fun...
I don't see why Dangote can't get crude cheap to moderate retail prices as is being done by the likes of Aramco, Gazprom and Petrobas

NNPCL is mad and crazy. Whoever gave this suggestions about NNPCL being an offtaker is just trying with another format to bring back subsidy.
NNPCL is the worst government organisation In the last 10 years, I'm not a tribalistic man but I believe those Hausa and Fulani people have totally failed at NNPCL.
Asiwaju must use his nepotistic tendencies in cleansing the clueless and parasitic Fulani and Hausa elements in that organization.
How can the clueless Fulani and Hausa elements in that organization still be in charge eight months after they told us the Port-Harcourt Refinery will start working, how they are still employed really baffles me.
I believe there's a simple solution to cheap fuel in Nigeria, especially from Dangote Refinery.
Instead of the parasitic element in NNPCL paying for subsidy on Refined fuel, they should subsidize the crude oil.
No Kobo should be paid to Dangote in the form of subsidizing refined products, let the NNPCL and the dirty cabal in the organization give Dangote the local crude production at a discounted rate and fix the price of Refined products but the thieves in NNPCL will never go that route.
If Asiwaju doesn't sack these criminals in NNPCL then I believe he's a direct benefit of the economic crime they are commiting against their
All this time, you think Tinubu doesn’t know this.
Dangote refinery is going to reveal alot of underground stuff going on here. Just watch.

Dangote is a business man and he has no intention of subsidizing anything or helping anyone.

Has he ever sold Cement cheaper than Large and BUA?

That Monopoly thing is real. NNPCL knows what they're saying about Dangote.
lol this is the funniest thing I have ever read…NNPCL has spent 25 billion dollars on turn around maintenance on our local refineries and yet those refineries has not refined a single crude for many years ….lol. For almost 20 years you have been importing fuel and suddenly you are worried about monopoly…smh. The truth is this statement “ NNPCL knows what they are saying about dangote” shows you are one of the dumbest human on earth…lol. NNPCL have the opportunity to make our refineries work to save us from the so called monopoly but they choose to import fuel while spending 25 billion dollars on refineries that still cannot produce fuel till date.

The first purpose of Nigerian crude oil is to finance the country. If you are o choose between your salary and fuel to buy. I am sure you will choose your salary.
The government has contracts with people buying crud oil for years. They cannot cut off all these people and now rely on Dangote.
Dangote is a virgin in the refining world. He has zero experience.
Its better for him to run for at least a year before we put the lives of Nigerians in his hands.
Now we have people buying crude-Outsiders
We buy Petrol from another place- Outsiders

But you are asking us to sell crude to Dangote and buy petrol from Dangote who just started refining yesterday. Thats too much to rely on one individual. 300 million Nigerians feed on crude oil sales.

If we give Dangote all these market and anything goes wrong, the whole country is in big trouble. My advice is he should be tested slowly, sell him a third of crude he needs, let him source the rest and buy a third of petrol he produces....slowly overtime we can increase the quotas.

DR is not asking to be the sole source for refined product just like DR didn’t ask to be sole source for diesel. DR supplied diesel and crashed the market, hence it’s up to the marketers to import or be purchasing it from DR. We’ve seen the effect of DR on diesel, but we are playing games with petrol because some cabals that are and have been benefiting from subsidy didn’t want DR to enter into the competition and crashed cost of petrol.

The same IOC that we are selling crude oil to, are they not same company that we are buying refined oil from? So your argument didn’t hold any water. Let them keep deceiving you while you are deceiving yourself also.

We, Nigerians are the one loosing, DR is not loosing at all. DR is buying crude from overseas and has willing buyers within the Africa continent. It’s unfortunate that the main purpose for setting up the refinery is been defeated not by outsiders, not by colonial masters but same Nigerians and denying the common man of buying petrol at reduced prices.

I know the Nigeria government doesn't not have clean hands, neither am i foolish enough to think DR will sell us cheaper petrol.
They are both using Nigerians as pawns to enrich themselves. If DR has other buyers in Africa, lets see him perform Magic. Let him sell to Benin republic/Cotonou at a cheaper price, let him prove us all wrong.

Listen, haven’t DR proof it by crashing diesel from 1700 to 1100? What other proof do you want, and by the way DR did same for jet fuel. Like I said keep deceiving yourself and be a pawn in the hand of cabals stealing our collective money through subsidy. Just give DR two months, and you witness petro shipment to neighboring countries in Africa. By the way, DR will also be listed on the NSE for people like you to be part owners of this great company.

Hmm...

This had been the concern of sane Nigerians all along.

Would Dangote's pms be affordable?

Aside that, the policy somersaults of BAT and the apc does not help matters.

1. A major refinery is coming on line soon, but you mortgage your crude oil into the future making the coming refinery dependent on importing crude oil.

2. You preach how Dangote's refinery would solve our pms problems, but you develop a policy that rapidly promotes the use of CNG thereby nullifying what you promoted.

3. Because of the mortgaging of crude oil, you know dangote would have to source crude from outside Nigeria, but you now devalue or float your currency which makes it more expense for dangote to get his crude, invariably meaning the cost would be higher for Nigerians...

Again, I wonder who advises bat and more importantly, I wonder how apc's praise singers reason or think. They see obviously poor policies and steps of government, but still blindly praise them and insult others who say the truth.
It wasn’t BAT who mortgaged your oil stop misinformation. As per CNG, it’s not bad if the government finds alternatives to PMS such as CNG and electric cars.

Landing cost of Diesel was around #1,600 when Dangote rooled out Diesel at #1,100 or so. Dangote can sell petrol at around #700, while filling stations can sell below #800,I think that is still manageable as far as subsidy payment is completely gone and fuel is available.

The N1,117 landing cost of petrol is far above the pump price of the product in Nigeria. Currently, the pump price of petrol is between N660/litre and N800/litre, depending on the area of purchase.

Technically, subsidy is back.

Are you aware that we building our own refinery can only remove the cost on profit that the refineries make on fuel, which cannot be more than 100 naira per litter.
There is nothing like Cheap crude, crude is FGs main source of income so can only be supplied to the refinery at prevailing International market rate. So have our own refinery can eliminate only freight and profit cost

Good question !
Assuming they buy at 1000, its 1000 all over the world. And when they bring it to Naija they add 200 (subsidy) and sell it 800.
If we buy or sell to dangote it will still be 1000 (thats international market price) If dangote refines it it will still be 1000.

THE GOVERNMENT WILL STILL HAVE TO ADD 200(subsidy) FOR NIGERIANS TO BUY CHEAPER.

Dangote is not going to foot the cost of the subsidy. Dangote who is a virgin refiner cannot refine crude oil at lower costs. If anything his costs will be higher because he is just starting to learn the business. We are buying from people who are running 24/7 refineries.
Now you get nig is kills its own. Here i am an Igbo man defending dangote's business thats how it should be. By the way can't the 6 zones/regions be given liecense to build and operate a regional Refineries to provide for the need of their people? From there states can now own theirs too if they want

Oga, what I'm saying is this:
Crude plenty for Naija so tey, the NNPC cannot give us the actual figure Crude extracted in a day/months/year.
All thanks to smugglers, theft, bunkers, etc

So, the FG should cut those losses to gready Nigerians by serving the meal to the masses.
By running a working Refinery and supplying it Crude way below the international price and stop paying subsidy to any entity.
E.g if the intl price is N1000/ltr, PHC refinery should get Crude at N100/ltr.

Because, Na our oyel, person no fit dey sell clothes come dey wear rags.
How can Nigeria be selling Crude, yet petrol is an issue?!!
If no be say people dey mad for AsoVilla, petrol should sell for N10/Ltr in Nigeria.

It's as if international Price will determine how I eat my own food and fvckk.

International price shouldn't threaten our existence collectively.
Re: Only NNPCL Can Buy Dangote Petrol – IPMAN by EXPRESSSMAN(m): 10:43am On Jul 29
This may not be the real situation.
Even if Dangote sells at international price, what about the freight, insurance and other logistics component of the price. By the time you remove them, the price will lower significantly.
Besides, If NNPC sells crude in Naira to Dangote, they will buy the refined oil in Naira. So there is nothing to panic about.
Let's wait for Dangote to start selling first.

FG and NNPCL should do whatever is necessary to allow Dangote Refinery to operate and produce petroleum products for the masses of this country. The price should be reasonable and affordable for the masses. about N550 per litre. Any issue of quality standards and pump price per litter should be resolved amicably without unnecessary rancor and mudslinging between NNPCL and Dangote Refinery Management. The overall interest of the masses should be paramount. The saboteurs in NNPCL should be identified and exposed to face full weight of the law. President Tinubu should have courage to expose and prosecute all individuals found culpable in subsidy scandal and non functional local refineries.

Dangote is a monopolist, he made his billions by monopoly (which no other company had) and now he cannot survive in the oil sector as a monopolist because this is different from fast moving consumer goods or building/construction materials.
Dangote wants the government to sell crude to him at a price he wants but doesn’t want to sell petrol or AGO to Nigerians at a price government wants. That is not going to be tolerated.
I totally support that Dangote refinery must never be witch hunted by any agent of government but also Dangote must abide by all quality regulations and decent / affordable pricing of products to Nigerians.
Government gives you crude at very cheap rates in Naira, please do same to citizens by selling at N150/L as demanded by government instead of insisting on selling at USD international equivalent rates to the public. This is the only way your monopoly can be permitted so long it’s for public interest.

Crude oil is one commodity thats more valuable than dollars in the world. He cannot get free crude in Nigeria, it will never happen.
Even the free limestone and laterite he gets for Cement manufacturing, we never saw any discounted rices for Nigerians, he sell to Nigerians the same price with other neighboring African countries, despite the free raw material he gets from Nigeria.
