Are you sure that moniker (SJ) you quoted is a Yoruba girl? I don't think so. The newly created moniker looks more like an impostor claiming to be a Yoruba female based on the post history. There are many of those monikers here on NL and other online platforms such as X, Facebook, IG, with catfish accounts, some claiming to be from one ethnic group while actually being from another ethnic group. NL is particularly notorious here because anyone can register a new NL account in 2 minutes with a free throwaway email and start using it for trolling and dissemination of hate speech.

By the way, Ibos from the South East are fully involved in the protests in other parts of Nigeria especially in PH, Abuja and contiguous areas or states and I have seen the videos of some of them making demands from the government (with one of them calling for the reversal of fuel to N100 per liter and the re-introduction of fuel subsidy which even Atiku and Peter Obi said they were gonna remove. In the South East, the protest is muted and that's exactly what happened during the Occupy Nigeria anti-fuel subsidy removal protests in 2012 when the South East traders got some knocks for going about with their trading activities while citizens from other parts of Nigeria fought against the abrupt plans to remove fuel subsidy WITHOUT the operations from any new refineries on ground during the GEJ administration. The green refinery the GEJ administration with Ms. Diezani Agama as the Petroleum Minister said would be built was ÑEVER built till 2015 when GEJ left office.

Hear what you are saying igbo in other part of Nigeria are fully involved in the protest but in their own region banned protest? Read your comment yourself.

Myself I'm not a Yoruba by origin but was born in Yorubaland and I love them and it annoys me when they play foolishly to be human "pleasers" at their lost, who does that

From December Till Now Each Governor Has Received N570B As Additional Support From FG – Mohammed Idris

Minister of Information Mohammed Idris made significant revelations during his appearance on the "Brekete Family Show." His discussion revealed a number of previously hidden details about the distribution of funds across different levels of government in Nigeria.

Idris addressed a common misconception about the allocation of funds, clarifying that the money does not belong solely to the federal government. He explained that funds are shared among the federal, state, and local governments. In his comments, he questioned whether the collective funds received by governors and President Bola Tinubu had increased and urged people to consider the money allocated to state and local governments.

The Minister challenged the notion that President Tinubu is solely responsible for funding local infrastructure projects. He emphasized that responsibilities such as repairing gutters, schools, and hospitals fall under the purview of state governments. Additionally, he pointed out that the federal government provides supplementary financial support to governors beyond their regular monthly allocations.

Idris revealed that since December, governors have received over 570 billion naira in additional support from the federal government. This substantial amount is intended to assist states in managing various projects and responsibilities.

The Minister's statements, shared on the official Instagram page of the "Brekete Family Show," have sparked widespread reactions from the public. The revelations have fueled discussions about the allocation and management of government funds.

Hear him: "In this our constitution, the money doesn't belong only to the federal government. Federal Government have their shares, State Government have their shares and Local Government also have their own shares. Did the money of all the Governors that came together with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu increase or it did not?. Everybody is saying President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, what of the money that is going to the State and Local Government, why don't you ask questions. To fix gutters, to fix small schools, to fix small hospitals, nah President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu go do that one again?. The State government is responsible for all these things. The Federal Government also supports the Governors with funds aside the monthly payment. From December till now, the Governors have received over 570 billion naira, just additional support".

Good. Tinubu must resign.

To join you,abi?
When your govt - ( Past and Present)-a Govt- Federal and States-have been wasting Nigerian Resources, since 1960-- don't you know there will be repacusions?
-There is no free food anywhere again, not even in Free- Town!
What President Tinubu Should Do Mediately:
1• the Refineries Must Work- for Our Crude-Oil.
2•Nepa/ DISCOS - must give Nigerians 24/7 Lights to Nigeria - to embark on Industrialisation - for without Light - I mean, real regular lights - to Process everything here in Nigeria-forget the Protest,it's a waste of time and energy!
3• Govt( States and Federal Should Embark on Food Revolution - by ensuring that Youths should be involved in different Farming 🧺 Skills and development!
e g. most of these Youths Protesting - have No Single Skills but Only Certificates which is good but the World is moving to- What can you do for us and be independently good?
4• Govt Must Embark on Total Industilisation - of goods and Services - be EXPORTS Oriented - by being Competitive, with Other Countries.
Nigeria can not continue to be a Consumer Countries:
- Produce Our Own Food.
- Produce our Own products-like Cotton e.g see the Chinese Cottage Industries - producing All Manners of Clothes but here those Industries are Dead- because we love Importations too much .
5.Govt should dismantle most of the Ministries, Agencies,e g NNPC.
-_We must be Self-Sufficiency in Industrial Goods- and that means we are back to 24-Hour Power Provisions, for without it,we can't move forward.e g this one Minister-of Power is telling Nigeria s Storie- Band A,Band -B,e,t,c,can t fit in to real Industrial Produce!

Our people and leaders at every level said we will not be a part of any protest this August.

The organizers of this protest are all Yorubas: Sowore,Falana, Adegboruwa, Damilare Adetona,Deji Adeyanju etc
They are the heroes of democracy.

Your attempt to deceive some Yorubas to think that Igbos are the ones directing them to go to protest makes it look like Yorubas are incapable of making independent decisions.

Remember when Yorubas & northerners organized Ebin pa wa 1.0 earlier in the year,we didn't participate.... just like now.

At this point I think Yorubas should be careful not to allow Tinubu's political ambition bring the cultural heritage into unnecessary disrepute.
Imagine using Oro festival anyhow to scare the masses or political opponents. Now after all the announcement of the festival starting from Aug 1, yet they retreated after they noticed people might beat them up.
Now Oro has become the "masquerade wing" of the APC propaganda machine.
What a shame. Their royal fathers should stop this mess before it is too late.
This is an authoritative information... It's a coincidence that Oro is taking place at this time which clashes with the so-called protests. There's NO political undertone. Your post is VERY MISLEADING and disrespectful of other people's centuries-old cultures. Always try to find out the reason for things before jumping to conclusions on a public forum where people can easily be misled by your post. I myself had to find out more about Oro as is practiced in all the more than 50 kingdoms in Lagos State, so as to get a proper hang of the cultures of the Yoruba people who are the indigenes of Lagos State (the Ijebus, Aworis, and Ogus) who also have Ijebu, Awori, and Ogu kinsmen and lands spilling right across the Lagos and Ogun States borders.

If Xmas takes place on December 25 and 10 days of economic protests clash with the Xmas/holiday season, would you FALSELY accuse Christians politicians of political manipulations for the Xmas celebrations?

The fallout of the protest has recorded huge losses for the government, corporate organizations and private individuals thus far.

If the true intentions of the so-called protesters is to bring to the attention of the authorities the hunger and widespread despondency prevailing across Nigeria, I guess the message has been passed loud and clear.

It's now time to come to the negotiating table and let rationality prevail over irrationality.

No one has been able to solve the myriads of his problems simply by going about protesting but, to sit down to marshall out practical and viable means of addressing them.

These protests may soon become nauseating if they do not call themselves to order.

As they say, quit the stage when the ovation is a loudest.

A

You are making sense by advocating for peace over violence. I support that too because instability will pay no one any good.

But you should realize that this Tinubu's government is so useless and clueless.
How can you in all sincerity remove oil subsidy and float the naira at the same time in an ultra import dependent economy?
Tinubu's solution to every challenge is to hand out audio palliatives to his cronies to also loot.
Even if you give everyone a bag of 50kg rice, how does that solve our economic woes?

The only way out is for him to reintroduce a minimum of 50% oil subsidy & control the exchange rate to around N500/$ for about a year.
During this period, the funds from the other 50% of removed subsidy can be used to fix the refineries. He should also be sincere and prosecute whoever that engages and dollar round tripping instead of channeling it for the necessary importation of the approved item.

Those involved in the subsidy scam & fraud should be arrested.
Subsidy is the only thing we benefit in this country. These leaders simply don't care about the masses.

Akpabio, the Senate president had the guts to tell us that they will be eating while the masses are asking for succour. Think about that.
