As u mentioned in your previous posts, the best way to shut people up and show you deserve this is to play well. They now remember that he was the 55th pick, and so he's playing to his pick number, but they don't remember his father and coach in part sent him to the slaughterhouse. He better keep playing and improving, and later replicate it in the NBA, where there are a bunch of people he's supposedly better than, otherwise we will come for him again. cheesy grin
They want to pretend like if he was balling they won't have littered everyone's screen with jizz. Weird bunch. They want all praise no criticism

I was seeing ESPN tweeting about deflections, if e cough for court they will tweet about it.

Do you know what the 55th pick last season Isaiah Wong got? A two way contract. Played a total of 4 minutes and is now trapped in the G-league

They want us to shine the same spotlight on a kid fighting for his survival vs one who is secured for 4 years and is under no real pressure. Bronsexual math is a crazy thing

LeBron to be the flagbearer for the US at the Olympics. The first basketballer to do so. Another feather to his cap.

I have always liked his leadership qualities. Worth emulating imo. I hope some of it rubs off on Curry as well. I feel like Curry is a little too self deprecating at times. I would like to see him voice the direction of the warriors more post Klay. Curry could have carried this flag as well, he has the body of work.

He has this uncanny ability to stand out on a loaded team. It's really unique. Not all great players have this skill.

It's more because he is an extremely effective he is a great ISO scorer.
And he flourishes due to the lack of attention on a loaded Team....

Lack of attention on a loaded team? Who were the starters in today’s team that are taking the attention away from Durant? Holiday? Booker? Embiid? Curry? James?

Durant is the most skilled player on that roster and most coaches will say that, including S. Kerr who reiterated this fact after today’s game.

He will beat you on all 3 levels of scoring so this isn’t about ISO scoring because that will be limiting who he is.

We are saying the same thing.
He is a great ISO scorer, its a loaded team so it is basically one on one. That is a perfect recipe for Durant to thrive. Defenses are not drawing up schemes to stop him, they have others to also worry about....

Yes but other players are also on the loaded team and can't do what he does. It's not like you can load up on Durant and leave the others open

The truth is certain guys need to be the focal point of teams to thrive. While others don't. You can see how useless Embiid looks, even Tatum and Steph don't look themselves

Its more than that. There are many great iso scorers playing this olympics. Its the dedication to the craft that produces this kind of result.

No doubt. Olympics needs a different skill set, you have to be more of an all rounder as opposed to leading a team built around you. Which makes Durant's scoring even more special.

To be more specific, you can have a skill that makes you the best of the best. Making that skill shine in a team not built around you is a different matter. You do have to "see" the game different and know how to position yourself so that you are a plus not a zero or minus even to the team.

I think FIBA having a shorter 3pt line also helps guys like KD

I mean nobody talks about the fact that being on loaded teams like this also means fewer touches and a smaller margin for errors

Cats like an Embiid for example can't take 8-10 shots in the first quarter, once you miss your first two the ball swings to someone else to try their luck and this is where efficient scorers like KD thrive

Calm down, Oga. I am surprised you think giving everyone the free rein wouldn't cause problems. The scoring load may just rotate away from those 2. I believe they have a game today, so we will see. That's how star-studded this team is. If you try to lock anyone up, other players would go off.

But i agree with you, certain guys have to be the focal point to thrive.

There's a reason KD is American All-time leader in scoring. In PPG and totals

Relative to other NBA players he has always shone in these FIBA tournaments. It's not a fluke

FIBA ball is a real leveler for a lot of these 3pt spammers which is ironic cos the line is shorter but it's just a lot more physicality you can get away with.

Lillard last Olympics now Steph in this one

10% 3PT

That is what happens when they don't develop a midrange jumper. The hype of a 3 going in is louder than a regular jumper so they play to the gallery. Here in the real world, FIBA, the Olympics, there are no crowds to hype. You have to go grind out results. This is what stands KD out. He has a consistent midrange. This is where guys like Jalen Brunson, Kyrie Iverson and DeMar DeRozan would have thrived instead of Curry.
