Protesters wasting their time again.

Instead of facing the real issues, they are out there making noise like it will change anything.

If only they would channel that energy into productive activities, maybe we would see some progress in this country.
So they should not protest,abi?

You are of those compromised to do the dirty Job of opposition to the worthy cause.

This is an authoritative information... It's a coincidence that Oro is taking place at this time which clashes with the so-called protests. There's NO political undertone. Your post is VERY MISLEADING and disrespectful of other people's centuries-old cultures. Always try to find out the reason for things before jumping to conclusions on a public forum where people can easily be misled by your post. I myself had to find out more about Oro as is practiced in all the more than 50 kingdoms in Lagos State, so as to get a proper hang of the cultures of the Yoruba people who are the indigenes of Lagos State (the Ijebus, Aworis, and Ogus) who also have Ijebu, Awori, and Ogu kinsmen and lands spilling right across the Lagos and Ogun States borders.

If Xmas takes place on December 25 and 10 days of economic protests clash with the Xmas/holiday season, would you FALSELY accuse Christians politicians of political manipulations for the Xmas celebrations?

Sorry if I am not well informed. However it looks suspicious that they usually announce their dates to coincide with already fixed dates.

I wonder what you have to say about the date the Oro organizers fixed after INEC had earlier fixed the governorship election date for March 2023?

Is the observation of the Oro festival greater than the governorship election in Nigeria?

While I await your opinion on this, I submit to you my friend that what prompted the Oro festival of March 2023 was a reaction to Tinubu's defeat in Lagos by Peter Obi.
Tinubu pushed them to fix the date on election day to intimidate the voters from voting against Sanwo Olu which would have ended his iron clad grip on Lagos.

He wanted to apply the same tactics but the fear of the masses mobbing them made them retreat.

From December Till Now Each Governor Has Received N570B As Additional Support From FG – Mohammed Idris

Minister of Information Mohammed Idris made significant revelations during his appearance on the "Brekete Family Show." His discussion revealed a number of previously hidden details about the distribution of funds across different levels of government in Nigeria.

Idris addressed a common misconception about the allocation of funds, clarifying that the money does not belong solely to the federal government. He explained that funds are shared among the federal, state, and local governments. In his comments, he questioned whether the collective funds received by governors and President Bola Tinubu had increased and urged people to consider the money allocated to state and local governments.

The Minister challenged the notion that President Tinubu is solely responsible for funding local infrastructure projects. He emphasized that responsibilities such as repairing gutters, schools, and hospitals fall under the purview of state governments. Additionally, he pointed out that the federal government provides supplementary financial support to governors beyond their regular monthly allocations.

Idris revealed that since December, governors have received over 570 billion naira in additional support from the federal government. This substantial amount is intended to assist states in managing various projects and responsibilities.

The Minister's statements, shared on the official Instagram page of the "Brekete Family Show," have sparked widespread reactions from the public. The revelations have fueled discussions about the allocation and management of government funds.

Hear him: "In this our constitution, the money doesn't belong only to the federal government. Federal Government have their shares, State Government have their shares and Local Government also have their own shares. Did the money of all the Governors that came together with President Ahmed Bola Tinubu increase or it did not?. Everybody is saying President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, what of the money that is going to the State and Local Government, why don't you ask questions. To fix gutters, to fix small schools, to fix small hospitals, nah President Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu go do that one again?. The State government is responsible for all these things. The Federal Government also supports the Governors with funds aside the monthly payment. From December till now, the Governors have received over 570 billion naira, just additional support".

Myself I'm not a Yoruba by origin but was born in Yorubaland and I love them and it annoys me when they play foolishly to be human "pleasers" at their lost, who does that
Well, normally all Nigerian folks are supposed to be fully involved in non-violent protests but it what it is. Ibos online especially on NL and X like to boast and pretend like they are NOT affected by the economy in Nigeria but they are seriously affected and this is why you will see that many of the Nairaland thread topics lamenting and cursing over the economy and feeding are Ibos, yet they will be "packaging" and bragging and making inciting posts urging mayhem while they stay muted in their own region but protest in Abuja and PH. Conversely though, ever since the 1989 anti-SAP protests and riots which I witnessed and which was led by gallant Uni students such as those from Unilag, Uniben, and human rights activists during the Ibrahim Babangida years, I have come to realize that protests in Lagos State and subsequently other parts of Nigeria easily turn violent. Ibrahim Babangida's son, Muhammed was a student of Unilag then, but it was after the anti-SAP protests that Babangida sent him to continue his studies abroad. Even the June 12 election annulment protests and struggles turned violent with more than 200 protesters brutally gunned down in Lagos State in one single day in 1993 by the military guys. A Journalist who was in the midst of the gun shots and dead people on the floor gave that account.

Bro I'm a total aupporter of non violent protest, every region must participate if no ulterior motive behind it because subsidy issue affected all, dollar rate affected all, food shortage affected all so any region that distance itself is fine then every other region too must disteance itself no one is a fool to be facing bullets for others to later come and enjoy it with no thanks.

Oga, there's nothing revealing or deep here, why would a government give such an amount to governors and not monitor if the money is used for what is was released for? Is that not a failure on the part of the government. Only an irresponsible and shameless government will be dishing out money ment for the people to governors without monitoring how the money is spent.

Government made it so easy for criminals to steal the people's money... criminals find it so easy to steal from government than to rob a bank reason they want to be in government by any means possible.
