Please sisters. I did HSG and was diagnosed with left hydrosalpinx and right blocked tubes. My doctor suggested I take antibiotics for the hydro but I see online that it doesn’t cure Hydrosalpinx. What can you advise I do? Is ivf the only solution? I read that with hydro, ivf will keep failing. I’m so depressed.

My Dear take serrapeptease and flush the tubes back to back. U might be lucky to have them reopened and may not need ivf. Even ivf without taking care of the hydro is serious gamble. Antibiotics alone may not help ur case because the adhesion/blockage that is responsible for fluid gathering in ur tubes needs a force/push to open it up and let the water flow. U can also add castor oil massage while on serra. All d best

Don't give up Dear, try that local IUI Blendy77 mentioned with the HCG trigger, you may be lucky. A lot of us got results through that recipe. Its DIY so saves you money. No IUI is less than N500-700k in a fertility hospital as at today so its best you try it yourself at home and if no luck, save and go for IVF straight. Don't waste your little savings. Baby dusts to you

Can you point me to the post on the IUI?

Hi mummies and daddies in the house! Please has anyone use REGENISIS fertility center in Ikeja Lagos? How good is the center.
And I will appreciate if anyone can recommend a good IVF center between Lagos and Ogun state. Thanks!

Can you point me to the post on the IUI?

Heres a simplier version posted in my group

Local IUI explained in detail

Step 1...
You buy clomid or letrozole. It's an ovulation induction drug. To be taken for 5 days. You either start on day 2 of your cycle... that is second day of menstrual bleeding till day 6....OR start day 5(start counting day 1 from first day of menses) till day 9. Then stop. It will trigger your ovaries to produce eggs and usually you will get more than one mature Egg

Step 2. On your day 10( remember to count from day 1 of menses) You have to go to a lab to do TVS aka transvaginal scan. It's the scan where they put a probe...into your vagina to see your ovaries and uterus.
Tell them to tell you the size of follicles your ovaries recruited... if the biggest ones are up to 20mm to 23mm) good.

Step 3
Take HCG injection. It is an injection that supports your hormones to trigger the release of those mature follicles. You're supposed to have bought it and kept. The one to buy is 5000IU. Get a nurse from a pharmacy to inject you on your bumbum. Within 48hrs YOU MUST OVULATE...so no dulling or guessing you know the day to start banging 🤣

Step 3 alternative
HOWEVER if on day 10, you discover that the follicles were not up to 20mm.. let's say 15mm and below, it means it still needs time to grow, don't use the HCG injection. Just scan again on day 13/14...then use the HCG. Don't wait beyond day 15 to use the HCG.

STEP 4
From the day you are injected with HCG bang with your husband till the next 4-5 days.

STEP 5
Start using progesterone from day 15 till you do pregnancy test 2 weeks later. You can buy the tablet progesterone called Duphaston or the vaginal suppositories...the one they insert in the vagina every night..it's called cyclogest. It's also sold in big pharmacies. When you buy it... keep it in the fridge.

STEP 6
If God show you mercy and it clicks... that is you tested and you are pregnant... continue with the cyclogest or switch to cyclogest if what you were using before was Duphaston.

STEP 7
You can still buy baby aspirin aka vasoprin...be taking once day from that same day 15 and even continue after you are pregnant. Same with the prenatal called pregnacare conception. This one can start from day 1 of period.

STEP 8
If you are over 40yrs old or you know that your ovarian reserve is not plenty...try to use supplements like CO10, DHEA, vit E to help boost your egg before you begin this process to increase your chances of getting quality eggs that will likely yield positive pregnancy

NEXT STEP
You can only try this process if your tubes are open, u dont have fibroid, you have not reached menopause and your husband sperm is either average or very good.

NEXT STEP
Above all pray pray pray

Truth is, you cant do IVF with hydrosalpinx, cos the fluid will keep flowing into the uterus which will k*ll the embryo.

2 options: its either the tube with hydro is removed completely or is tied/clipped.

If you're not in a hurry, you can try taking serrapeptase while doing castor oil message, it worked for some.

Antibiotics is a waste of time and resources

Hi everyone, my wife has pcos we already knew before we went on with the marriage as scan showed ovary with string of petals shape and some small fibroid but I loved her so we went ahead with the marriage, by the way I married her a virgin so trying for pregnancy before marriage was not a choice.

Back then the progesterone test showed that she was ovulating (16.1ng/ml) and her period is regular as well 27 -30 days cycle. Although it seems she has insulin resistance which makes her tired sometimes.

We are 6 months now in marriage and pregnancy has not happened. I have already made provisions and savings for ivf if it comes to that. My wife has been down and she is always sad anytime she sees her period this past 6 months but I have been encouraging her.

I am now thinking of suggesting the fertility clinic option to her with the aim of going the ivf route if after another 6 months with the hospital nothing changes.

I just want to speak to experienced people if I am making the right choice and what can you advise/suggest.

By the way, my own sperm analysis returns good with total motility more than 70% and sperm count above average.

Thanks for your time.

U are on the right track, but first of all visit a fertility clinic, the fertility specialist will help u make decision on the best ART for you and your wife.
To add to this, have she done HSG, since she is ovulating and your SFA is good, there are great chances of pregnancy to occur, unless HSG shows her tubes are blocked

This issues of crying each time she see her period is what break a man most.. but she will be fine...nd she will conceive..don't lose hope...
Let her do HSG first...

She may not need ivf even with pcos. Try hsg tests as advised, once its confirmed her tubes are open try that local iui recipe i posted. Its just timed intercourse with ovulation monitoring. Better still just get her pregnacare conception to augment her ovulation for 2months if nothing then try d iui at home. Tell her to relax. Anxiety n pregnancy are never friends. Thank God she married a learned man. All the best

Don't do as she said, consult a good fertility center first. Some of the center where they run the HSg can cause more damage than good. Be guide by a good fertility center. Don't rush things depending on her age she supposed to enjoy sex for a yr before any test.
HSg is not bread and butter. Before they cause her more problems.

I completely agree with you on being careful with naija clinics and invasive procedures.

We understand 1 year is the limit set before exploring fertility options but in our case, we already know she has an underlying condition from the pelvic scan results so that's why we don't want to wait for 1 year.

I am also a little concerned about the hsg procedure and its attendant risk especially the risk of infection.

Some day, I promise to give back to this thread. I guess the time is here. Waited for 9 years before holding my bundle of joy. Did everything humanly possible. Today, I have 3 kids. To the glory of God.

Diagnosis
Male factor
Female Factor-pcos, rhesus incompatibility and incompetent cervix

Things I did
3 IVF
2 surrogate trials
4 IUI
3 hsg
Countless tvs
Countless hormonal profile
1 hysteroscopy

And for some I can't remember. The journey isn't for the soft hearted. Early Diagnosis is the key and being spiritually strong.

First baby was after the second Ivf
Second baby was after eating okra soup and okra leaf (for ovulation), vitamin e and folic acid
Third baby was after taking cloves and booni(less than 300 naira).

All in all, I give God all the glory. Mind you, my womb was completely written off. Nothing stayed, not even water. Pregnancies dropped after 3/4 months. When God stepped in, everything changed.

The enemy is giving up. Consistent trial. Always cheerful. Avoid anxiety. Then again, EARLY DETECTION.

PRAYERFULLY pick a doctor and medical facility that will walk with u all through. Try everything. Even local herbs.

I never knew I had pcos. Until after seven years. We were busy treating male factor.

I Hope this helps and gives someone hope.

All in All, I had 3 miscarriages. Knowing what I know now, the journey would have been a walk in the park.
