Hi everyone, is it necessary to include reference letters from previous places of work. Can employment letters suffice?
I graduated in 2020 and started NYSC in 2021 - 2022, worked from 2022 - 2023. Since then I haven’t been working. Do I need to explain this recent gap and the one immediately after graduation?

Employment letters can suffice in place of reference letters. It’s usually one or the other. I had something from each place I worked in.

I don’t know about your recent study gap but it doesn’t hurt to explain. Just write in as additional information and say what you want to say.

Yes. Transit Visa.

That’s how you answer.

I declared my July 2014 visa and my October 2014 visa refusal. It is still within 10 years.

So the month doesn't matter? June 2014 to August 2024 is 10 years and 2 months.

Thanks a lot for the response. I will go with yes then and I will declare it as you pointed out. The issue is that it's on my previous expired and lost passport so I will not be able to present evidence. I have a police report for the passport though.

Hello everyone. I’m a newbie here. I have Bsc in economics (First class honors) and would love to pursue my masters in the Uk. I have the following questions:

1. I need suggestions of schools with very affordable tuition or gives a reasonable discount for first class degree.

2. Paying the full fees will not be a problem but money for living expenses might be the problem. I will know like to know about available student jobs and cities i can find it easily.

3. I need advice on the course I can take . I was thinking of MSc public health or Something along AI and Data analysis.

Your advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello house,
1. Please does anyone know how much police character report costs?

2. Do you have a genuine contact there too at Alagbon?

3. Also, how long does it take to get the police report?

With your first class I would advise you to look at schools in the US, GSU should be your top priority to get full funding except there’s a specific reason you choose to study in the UK.

It costs 30k do it yourself don't let anyone collect extra money from you. Go to the police Character report website of the Nigerian Police Force. See here https://possap.gov.ng

I did mine outside Nigeria on that website and the Nigerian Police Force mailed it to me in a Pdf format. I repeat it only costs 30k and everything will be done on that website with your debit card.

After you've done it go to alagbon for your biometric capture if you are in Lagos and if outside Lagos go to the NPF State Headquarters you reside in that's if you are still in Nigeria and if you are abroad already NPF would email a biometric form for you to thumbprint, scan and send back to them. You'll get it within 72hrs.

Visa Alert!!!
Application - 30th July
Biometrics - 31st July
Transferred to DMC - 31st July
Transferred to VAC – 2nd August
Email for collection – 2nd August (Didn’t go and pick up because of protest)
BRP Mail – 4th August but letter was dated 1st August
Ikeja Standard

*A number of factors could be responsible, but don’t know if my application was this fast because of generally low applications or low applications due to impending protest the next day (cos it was literally empty the day I went for bio, although on pickup day there was a little crowd but not so much in my opinion).

Documents Submitted
CAS
Employment letters
Certificate from School
TB certificate
NYSC
WAEC
Printed bank statement from bank (signed and stamped)
Letter explaining what I had been doing since graduation.
Reference letters from a employer whom I didn’t have an employment letter for and a current client as I am a freelancer currently.

Even though I had an agent who guided me, this forum was very helpful to me, so I felt the need to open an account on Nairaland just to thank everyone who has contributed and helped newbies like me through the process. Wish everyone else applying speedy success like I experienced!

Bro, kindly be chilled. You've submitted and done biometrics already. The statement you got from your mobile app is 100% okay.

You’re welcome ma.

Tell her to open a pounds account for her peace of mind. The child can start working on his personal statement because new admission cycle will open in September.Set up a UCAS account and start working on the application around september.
Does the child have their qualifications already? They should be quick about making a university choice so as to know which exams he/she might need to register for.(e.g A-levels,IB etc). Most of these exams have scheduled dates. Waec is not accepted by most of them for BSc.

Thank you for the feedback..

I've given her all the information she needs as my three children did their A Levels and University in the UK so I'm very familiar with the process and the UK education system. However, none of my children studied computer science and I didn't want to tell her what I know nothing about.

Tell her to give them a paid call today, since decision has been made, TLS is the one delaying you now. Just give them a paid call and they will sort her application this week

Hello Guys,

I started my POF on July 24, and the start date of my statement will be July 25. I'm finding it hard to determine the exact date it will be 28 days.

From my calculation, it is August 22, and this is the same day I intend to submit my application.

Am I right? Thank you in advance.
