I don’t think any employer should still follow the old trend of physical interview especially at the first stage.

So I should waste about 10k to Lagos to and fro just for the first stage of an interview.

Never!

Nice one.... It's only in Nigeria that problem will keep pilling up.

In US under the Law, you cant invite people for interview without giving them the Job.

For those mentioning me Read the law

"The law states it clearly, before you called anyone for an interview, be ready to give the person a job even if he/she did not qualify for the one interviewed for... Why?? So that you won't throw such person into depression... They are whites..... You are just black with black brains 😂 😂

This is actually rude and foolish. The best would have been to simple ignore or drop your suggestion "respectfully". Didn't you see the location before you applied? Didn't they offer you ample time to prepare for the interview.

To even have the guts to post it here. No sane person should employ a loud-mouthed and rude person like you. If NNPC or Shell sent you that invite, would your reaction had been the same?

You'll still ask for data and even the device to attend the interview session.
The person is still eating free food and not responsible for anyone.

You are right...He is rude and would likely not get called ......but some of these employer needs rude people like these to make them see reality....

Like seriously...pple are getting jobs without stepping out of their house, yet one cheap àss company want someone to spend over 10k for first interview over a job he may not get.....

the bad part is .....na insurance job that pays 30k per month....

U mentioned oil company....oga ask around.. u will not step into any serious oil company before u get their job...all the first and second online test, interviews, and even signing of offer letter will be done online....one of my friends just a got a job with SchlumBerger and it was the final stage he took flight which the company even paid for...

.. Abeg oooo no company should stress anybody this season...pple dey vex

I rather find it shameful you’re even gloating publicly over an act of this nature. No wonder most of you are unemployable
These genZ’s are so senseless and bask in utter stupidity, I don’t know the kind of parents raising the uncouth youths we have in this country these days

Insanity...I have come to realise that pride is a virus that lives in humans who is not close to God whether rich or poor...you are struggling to eat yet have plenty data to be rude to someone who's willing to give u job that will put food on your table.... were you not aware of the location of the corporation before applying for the job?

hahahaa

i once went for a job interview in Abuja, imagine a company paying more than 5million for office space at shoperite wuse, cant provide laptop for their staff, telling you to come to work with your laptop and when the laptop spoil na OYO be that. the office space belike where them they do poultry, no window very tiny room. That's why start up in Nigeria don't last, spending big money on office space but cant provide staff a conducive work environment, and more than 8 people dey inside the 2 by 2 office. grin

It's the height of insénsitivity by employers or recruiters..

Asking all applicants wherever you reside in Nigeria to converge in Lagos because say dem dey find Job.. then tell them you would get back after an exhaustive day, without even a token to support their transportation.

The more sensible thing to do is to conduct the Interview by Zones... Northern Applicants can use Abuja while Southerners use Lagos..

Or better still, use Zoom to conduct the first interviews while those that you desire for the second round can converge at any of the zones above..

Some of those questions you gather people by Invitation to ask can be asked via Zoom.. you can measure a person's level of intelligence, experience and communication skills if you interact with them for just 5minutes via Zoom. It saves you time and stress and that of the recruit as well, and you would be able to even interact with more prospective recruits.

Recruiters can do better. I heard some of them do these things for fun tho. They say it makes those already on the job to sit up.

Good thing he cleared the company. Though he came out rude, But the message was passed and with time we will get there.
Some companies HRs are something else.

Good companies cannot invite you to their company for interview. Everything is done online., all the assessments and tests.
Invitation to the company means you are about to be employed and most times the travel fees is being paid by the company.
