ElevationD: Unless Nigeria split into 2, north and south, national literacy is impossible The north will rather spend its money on mass wedding than mass literacy How can a region have almost 50 percent out of school kids 3 Likes 1 Share |

North West and North East together contributes a total of 73.6% out of school children. Now that's massive and a ticking time bomb 1 Like |

easzypeaszy: How you mingle various culture and religion together and lace it with inaccuracies is mind-boggling. How many mosques sermons have you attended. Or you're using pockets of mosques to judge? I'll not be surprised. You're probably based in the North and domiciled in a Hausa-dominated area. I understand. I also frequent the core North a lot and ever since the protest started, there have always been special prayers (at least in the ones I attend) for the whole country, yes, I said it. I totally condemn the lootings and destructions. Millions of Nigerians both in and out of North also share the same view. Also, I have also been very critical of Northern leaders and some elements of Hausa-Fulani culture on and off Nairaland, so it's not about religion here, but culture. Please learn to separate their culture from religion. 1 Like |

SirLakes: Do you know the percentage of other tribes living in SW whose children are out of school too. What is the total population of those living in the SE compared to those living in the SW and SS. Moreover, who is person or organization doing the counting and how are they carrying out the counting process. 1 Like |

Let also compare the total population of those living in the SE to other regions, (Indigene and non Indigene included) let check something. 3 Likes |

MadamRamota:I served in Abia state and I know for sure you are lying as for the 6% in the south west 3% are the myriads of underaged gala, cream and phone accessories sellers from the East while the rest 3% are the myriads of underaged shoe shiners , Taylors, kunu ,wara ,onions ,tigernuts. Sellers and wheelbarrow pushers from the North 1 Like |

christejames: South south Niger Delta actually fits this description more. *Intellectuals without noise. *Natural wealth , feeding nigeria since independence *Sea and Ocean wealth.access to sea and free airspace. *Bravery and talents . Ijaws are bravest of all in the South and in the nigerian space. *Exposure. Not only were the Niger Deltans the first to be exposed to Europeans and western culture, they are also very much exposed till date without noise. . So in summary, Niger Delta people holds the ace |

MadamRamota:What a lot of tribalistic nonsense. Here's one reality which never occurred to your bigoted (and clearly badly educated) mind: one reason why the SW percentage seems so high is because the region is the preferred destination of choice for the indigent from everywhere else, not just from the north but also from your own barren, overcrowded and economically moribund enclave. 3 Likes |

Oceanfl0w:Yes, we have to educate not just our own children, but also those of the destitute rabble who endlessly flood into our region from everywhere else in the country. Funny how you and your ilk are quick to boast about how many people from your region live in the SW during election periods, but when stats like these appear, you suddenly develop amnesia about all your children hawking goods on the streets of Lagos during school hours. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Kingsmeal: So, 85.5% of out of school children in Nigeria are in the North. This is very sad and the leaders in the zones should begin to work together with the government. No one should blame Tinubu for this bcoz it's an age long problem which, in my own understanding, the Northern leaders are not ready to solve. Those children roaming the streets are tools for election, census, and crisis like we have now. |
