Man A is good at football but unpopular.

Man B is not good at playing football but has political backup and is also super rich.

Who would the coach choose between Man A or Man B if one were to be selected in today's Nigeria?

There you have your answer.

E try. Aside from Tobi Amusan and maybe our female weightlifters, don't expect much. The other countries are simply better. We beating other African countries is different from world stage. Except we invest in other competitions where countries like SA and East Africa dominate, maybe we can compete. But to compete with the world, we need to be world-class. Miracles or magic alone are not sustainable for topping the world.
You're the ONLY one who has spoken my mind on the historical FACTS so far right from page one of this thread. Other sports would bring more medals for many countries that have been playing second fiddle on the Olympic medals table.

On the surface, it might seem like a near-absolute truth, but then the keen development of other sporting events where a lot of medals are won would help many countries to win more Olympic medals or other international sports medals.

Swimming definitely is White dominated because of body structure and they start swimming pretty early.

Oluwatobiloba "Tobi" Amusan won her heat yesterday with a fast time ofc12.49 seconds and she's now in the semi-finals of the sprint hurdles where she is the current world record holder with a time of 12.12 seconds. That's the power of CLEAR intentionality on her part because she has a strong belief in her abilities. She's definitely gonna win an Olympic gold medal... If NOT, she'll get a silver medal because there are up to 3 big dogs in her 100 meters hurdles specialty.

excuses. The Caribbean and American dominating tracks are basically descendants of west Africans. Nigeria is richer than many Caribbean countries too. Let’s Africans focus on all Africans games and stop wasting money on Olympics

Yes, the country is not being nice to athletes, but this is clearly a poor performance.

Only thing there is that it's not his fault
