Nigeria’s Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina has withdrawn from Miss South Africa 2024 following controversy surrounding her mother’s citizenship.

She had made it to the Top 9 of contestants before South Africans began to demand for her disqualification on grounds that she is not a South African national.

I would like to start off by thanking everyone who has stood beside me right from the start of my Miss South Africa journey. I'm really grateful for all the love and support I have been shown.

Being part of the Miss South Africa 2024 competition has been an amazing journey however, after much careful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to withdraw myself from the competition for the safety and wellbeing of my family and I. With the support of the Miss South Africa Organisation, I leave with a heart full of gratitude for this amazing experience.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish my fellow finalists all of the best for the remainder of the competition. Whoever wears the crown represents us all.

Stop blaming South Africans. It's well understood that she's not a South African hence the hate of south Africans towards her can be justified.

I am telling you, inside Nigeria that she's from, the same thing would've happened assuming she tries contesting as Miss Lagos. I am not joking, you'll see that innocent girl being tagged IPOB terrorist just because she aspired to contest as miss Lagos.

So I laugh hard when I see Nigerians being all emotional about this online and all that when they know that, that's the same treatment she would've received here.

They would've insulted the living hell out of her tribe because she tried contesting as Miss Lagos.

People telling her to come to Nigeria are disingenuous. We know how randy and criminal our society is, she would surely be made to go through the rigors of massaging people’s egos or bed before being nominated.

Way to go! The anger and hatred the controversy towards her is becoming more wild-spread and is brewing larger trouble for foreigners in South Africa. She should've even done earlier to avoid needless revelations about her background, which she didn't even know till now that the South African govt has sided with their people against her.

Lesson here is that do not think that the crimes you commit or the path you take to “success” will not one day have repercussions on your children.

I always remember something I overheard from an uncle of mine when I was young. They day you join politics is the day you will know your family history. There are other versions like the day you join politics is thee day you will learn of your mothers ex boyfriends.

The meaning of this is the day you are successful or become a public figure of any sort is the day your secrets or your family secrets will be exposed. Before you go public, especially in a hostile environment make sure your background is clean. And when your family are telling you don’t do something and you don’t understand why, it could be because they know something you don’t but can’t tell you. I am sure the girl herself did not know her mother forged her birth papers.

Hating on one another

Igbos are getting rejected everywhere, oh boy !!

But if it were in the east, your guess is as good as mine. Whereas, more than half of your billionaire's businesses are on foreign lands (I was rather disappointed when I saw Cubana, opening his keke assembly plant in Lagos. What happen to the five states in the east? No fertile grounds for such ?), despite the steady complain of marginalization of them all, including that deputy senate president, who already took his share from BAT as regards the protest..

My take home advice for the Igbos on here is that, "Instead of the constant whining like a nagging woman about false victim claims (even though same is happening to others as well, either through error or deliberate act of the government) fix your home, no one is coming to do that for you! A lion in the jungle is far better with dignity and regard, than the dog in the city...

In all my Life, I have never met an African so Useless and mentally unstable as a rural SA man.

Their hate stems from several centuries of apartheid meted on them that their mental faculty is twisted to the extent that they can seem to understand the reason why they are still at the bottom of the food chain despite still having a black SA as president.
