NNPC Supplies 60% Of Our Crude - Dangote Refinery by seunowa(f): 1:52pm On Aug 08
In what appears a major shift from previous clam by the Dangote Refinery company, the Group Chief Strategy Officer, Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Company, Aliyu Suleiman on Wednesday, stated that 60 per cent of the crude supplied to the refinery was done by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.

Aliyu made the submission during an interactive session organised by the Senate Ad-hoc committee to investigate alleged sabotage in the Nigerian petroleum industry.

This supersedes the position of the Group Chief Commercial Officer, Dangote Industries Limited, Rabiu A. Umar, who had claimed that the NNPC has been supplying insufficient crude oil for its production demand.

Umar had said that NNPC supplies only 33 per cent of crude to the refinery, disclosing that it had to look elsewhere to source the remaining 67 per cent to meet its production capacity.

He added that the refinery, which has the capacity of refining 650,000 per day, could not depend on short supply from Nigeria’s oil company.

But during his presentation, Aliyu Suleiman stated that out of the five million barrels of crude oil they got in recent time, “NNPC gave them 60 per cent, 20 per cent was imported, and 20 per cent was purchased”.

Aliyu expressed gratitude for the strong partnership between the Dangote Refinery and the NNPC Ltd, and for making the huge supply to Dangote.

He described the refinery as a baby that should be supported by all relevant stakeholders “in order to grow and not die

This is great news! It shows that the partnership between Dangote and NNPC is strengthening. If NNPC is supplying 60%, it means the refinery is on the right track to achieving its full potential. Let’s continue to support this initiative so that our local production can thrive and reduce dependency on imports. Nigeria is on the rise!

Festacman should come over and tribalise this as usual

To them, the Govt is suddenly doing everything within their power to sabotage the same firm they are suppling to

A lil issue between those two groups and all they could see is "If they could frustrate a business owner from a major tribe, then minority investors have no hope"

Spits on their childish logic

Hmmm

The most important thing that Nigerian needs now is the reduction in the price of this product that controls all sections of our economy.

How can we pay so much for something that is deposited in our backyard... It heartbreaking. And Tinubu and his cartels are the sole beneficiary of this pains they inflict on the citizens.

I don't know why I don't like this partnership, I would have preferred a Dangote going alone than pairing with NNPC that has successfully taken us to no where for the past decades.

Well, good talk, let us see the level this partnership takes us to

Whose idea was it to claim all the crude had been sold far into the future and what was the rationale behind it? Some takes should not just disappear without query.

It's common sense that Nigerian crude must be enjoyed by Nigerians and since Dangote is the only one prioritizing local production for now, it's a no-brainer.

Once the price of petrol goes down and Dangote is allowed to drink water by the oil cartel, we moved to dragging the FG balls until they either sell off the refineries to serious humans or get them working.

One man cannot have more sense than the entire FG.

Shhh.. This is what we wanted; for Dangote to be let alone. Stop trying to claim this win. Stay where you were. It is Dangote that spilt the milk on National TV over what you call a "lil issue", not festacman. Did you also hear when he exposed that the 20% share you people said FG acquired to use to bring down petrol price is actually 7%? 😒😒

Fanatic sycophants who can't ask the right questions.

So why was Dangote giving the impression that NNPC doesn't want to supply them any crude. Now he has bullied everyone into believing that he's a victim and now a lot of concession have been throw up just to pacify him alone as is being done in all his other businesses. Anyway, i knew from the beginning that he just wanted some Laws to be bent for him. Now he has succeeded please let him start rolling out his fuel but let's not expect any price drop of more than N50 but because he is just a greedy business man.

With this development, fuel price will crash to below N300 per litre and prices of goods and services will crash and become very affordable for Nigerians.

Tinubu is working. grin

Big lies NNPC have never supplied Dangote crude because NNPC has never claimed that they did at any point of time. Infact they have supported the narrative for so long.

Simply say that the impasse has been resolved.
Which one is 20% imported and 20% purchased? The one that is imported was not paid for or what? Or the 60% supplied by nnpc is not accounted for in trade?
