i have no comment, you are doing well.

Re: Power Generation Hits Three-Year High Of 5,105MW by yemre: 3:26pm On Aug 08
anything that will bring increase in power generation and distribution is a welcome development. Sometime soo, we will achieve 24 hour electricity just like our counterparts in other countries. There will always be room for development. At least, for now, those on Band A can testify to consistently stable power supply. Yes, it's more expensive but if you are on prepaid meter, you can actually plan your bills while you make maximum use of it.

It's much better than when you are given estimated bills for the light you did not use. This is one area I want the government to look into.

Egypt that had some constraint with power generation in June was generating 35,000 mw.

Isn’t it better than what you have experienced before. Not surprised, I know the people from the land of rising wailers will still wail, complain and ……..

South Africa also does not subsidise power, except for means tested people , and does not allow things like 40% of total customers not paying for power.

Also, south African has spent more on power than we do. They have nuclear power stations, which cost a whole lotta money to build, operate and maintain

Only a zombie wouldn't say the truth. The electricity has improved for some days now. We had 22hrs of power supply yesterday and it unusual. Kudos to the power minister and Nigeria will soon get there.

If President Tinubu is really serious and genuine about moving this country forward, he should sack this minister. He is incompetent and clueless.

Under President Buhari, we hit 5,800 MW in March 2021. How can you still keep a minister who is saying by December 2024, we will reach 6000MW? So 18 months under President Tinubu’s administration, we will only be adding a mere 500 MW, give or take.

We got World bank loan for mass metering, and it’s yet to start. $500 million should get approx 3.5-4 million customers free meters.

He said on TV when he got the job that it took him 6 months to know the problem, which showed lack of qualification and unpreparedness.

By December, I think we should be at 7000 MW. If you also count the under of times grid failures have happened under his tenure, you would notice he is incompetent.

Throwback:
Shame on Nigeria.

Shame on both PDP and APC.

Since the Obasanjo 2nd term through Yar'Adua/Jonathan regime and then Buhari's 8years APC rule, we are still talking about power generation capacity that has refused to shoot far beyond 4000MegaWatts.

If Tinubu concludes his 8yr regime and we cannot boast of power generation beyond 10,000MW that is still very poor, then I would know that it is a deliberate plan by the ruling class not to grow our electric power capacity.
It will not go above that because any investment in that sector will be diverted. The private will not invest because people will bypass and refuse to pay so the government will continue to invest but all funds diverted by the people in charge.

Go and read on how Egypt increased its power generation.

4 years is enough to add more than 10,000 mega watts.

I thought I would see 10000Mw as a near achievement but alas this same incompetent minister is shamelessly celebrating 5105Mw transmission!

Most of these clueless ministers in Tinubu administration should have been kicked out long ago but because these appointments were either lobbied for or given as a form of compensation!

I talk am say the way we dey get light for Anambra here( like 16hours daily) E be like say something dey sup

Its even funny cause it hasnt really rained in Ukpo here since 7weeks sef

If its this good in Anambra, then Lagos people would prolly enjoy too much power supply like say na Standy-by Gen dey on ground

For remote workers ehn, this is one of the best things one can enjoy from the Govt

Remote Worker should switch to Solar Power, to avoid heart break

Our installed capacity is 14,000 MW. We don’t need someone to rule for 20 years. That would be a disaster!!!

Our available generation capacity is 7,600, that’s say about half our installed capacity.

So we don’t need new plants. Some of our installed capacity can be increased with new turbines to boost capacity.

Egbin power plant has an installed capacity of 1,320 MW but only produces 400-700 MW on average daily.
