Coldspice: Seems to me you don't know the irony in your own statement. A river fish isn't farmed, it's caught, so the fishermen can sell them cheap. This one is farmed, so it costs more... You went to school na, engage your no 6. |

santaclaws: The worst form of poverty is when you're using your education to defend poverty. River catfish is far more expensive than farm bred catfish. The fact that you can't afford it doesn't mean you shouldn't know. Go and ask how much they sell river catfish before quoting me. |

Coldspice: Yet there is no worse poverty than a lack of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Farmed catfish, in this economy, is expensive for a reason, but I wouldn't expect a random entity online to have common sense. You can keep talking to yourself now. Adios. ✌🏾 1 Like 1 Share |

santaclaws: That's the irony Farmed catfish is supposed to be more expensive than river cat fish due to management, but it is the reversal the case Goto that epe market area, when you hear the price of river fish omo you go ajar |

U won't enjoy this fish. The skin will be thick like cow meat. My dad once bought this size of catfish at wuse market about 12 years ago. I think we paid about 15 or 20 k for it. Omo I hated the taste and texture. Over mature worry the fish. I prefer small catfishes. Sweeter and less toxic |
Re: This Gigantic Catfish Was Sold For #100,000 (video/pictures) by santaclaws: 6:18pm On Aug 08 |
lereinter: Oh yea, fish is unnecessarily expensive in Epe. I stayed there years back and I think the demand for " fresh river fish" made the prices go up like that. And yes it would have been acceptable when animal feed was still cheap, not now that everything is expensive, so I'd pay top naira to the farmer who invested his time, money and effort, than to someone who simply caught fish. Anyone who's ever done some farming would understand the amount of effort and risk it takes to raise any animal to adult stage... it's a lot of work and risk, so 100k isn't a lot. 1 Like |
