However femi, he wont lose his files if he installs another OS... windows has the ability to put all your older files in a folder called "windows old" somewhere in the drive C: files like: documents,(pdfs, docs, xls etc) folders, videos, musics will all still be retained. however he'll lose any installed software, app etc...

Not all installation process give you that option

Most gives warning and ask if you want to proceed

You will need to restart it several times to get out of that screen. Then a different screen will come up at a point with two options to select. (I can't recall those two options on top my head). But in any case, one of the options will take you to your normal home/desktop page while the other will keep coming back to this your current screen. Once you try the first option and it takes you back to this present screen, then you will know that the other option is what I'm referring to.

Now back to your question, why is your PC showing that?
What I've noticed is that when the system is not properly shutdown, that screen always comes up on my PC.
So always shut down your PC correctly from the screen and not from the power off push-button or from the socket.

I used to have this issue on my system frequently. I noticed I installed some nonsense games so it turned into some form of virus. I uninstalled and deleted it and my system came back to normal. Try to uninstall the apps you installed before it started.

If it were the harddisk it wouldn’t boot at all so check your ram capacity if its less than 2g then increase to 4gig that should solve it. But if your ram is up to 4gig but the laptop processor issues powerful eg celeron craps then that is the issue.

just as so many Ogas here mentioned its the "blue screen of death" and woe onto you if it also makes the click of death. however this problem isnt only limited to a dying hard disk.. most issues regarding the originality of you os, corrupted bootloader. and many more OS related issue can also triger this...

solution: simply install a new operating system(try to ensure its compatible with the architect of your system) if issue persists.. you might have to change your hdd... as it will be hard for you to tell if its the OS or the drive rn.

Reload the OS. Install another Windows on it.

It could also be a hard drive issue.

It will. Trust me. It happens to my PC like sunshine rising everyday whenever I did not shutdown properly.

What he needs to do is to just keep pushing the power button on and off, after about 4 to 6 repeated on and off, a different page with those two options will come up.

You can go for multiple users, they are cheaper . Spending 50k to protect 500k isn't too much

forget anti virus.. keep your windows defender steady updated.... i promise you won't need an anti virus

have used alot of PCs... never had an anti virus.. just run update steady

I'm not a tech person. And I did say that's what I noticed and do with my PC whenever it comes up with that screen. And this happens on my screen like almost everytime I fail to shut down the system properly.

If I was at home now, I would have forced activate that same page on my PC by not shutting down properly and do a remedy video as I've earlier described. It works 100/100 for me all the time.

The keypoint here is he should always shutdown properly. I'm only experiencing this on windows 11 though.

well... its your hard disk dying slowly.. the force shutdown is just triggering the symptoms(blue screen of death)

Do not format the Computer (you will lose everything) yet. Not necessary yet and may be unhelpful.
Can be a myriad of issues from faulty hard drive (corrupt files), memory, to hardware.

How you proceed depends on how important the data on it is.
If the data is really important, I would take out the hard drive and try to clone it first onto another device. At least preserve the data.
Then I would put the old hard drive in and see what the error code is and proceed from there. Google it.
If not helpful, start with a disk check. If drive is bad replace if you can.
Then a memory(RAM) test. If RAM is bad replace the bad RAM

When I switch on my own, the fan comes on but it doesn't boot. The fan keeps turning and nothing more...
