Hello guys, Kindly advise here. My daughter has B2/B3 waec scores in the key science subjects and 280 in JAMB. She wants to go for MBBS. Which federal university in south/west can she get to with this credentials. Kindly also advise what course she could change to (if MBBS is not possible this year) that will provide opportunity for switch to MBBS in 200L next year. Thanks all. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by PinkNature(m): 3:57am On Jul 21 |
Cuetosh: Nothing like switching in 200l. If she wants MBBS, she should get it in 100l. Chances of switching to MBBS in any public university is less than 10% 3 Likes |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Zico5(m): 10:32am On Jul 21 |
Cuetosh:She can try Olabisi obasanjo University or LAUTECH. The cut off for those school are not as high as some federal universities in south west. But try to consult people about their mode of admission. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Whixdom: 6:55pm On Jul 21 |
Cuetosh: She surely can come to Unizik. Here, she can get a medical related course like med lab or radiography. She can only switch to medicine after she's done with 200 level. Therefore, she must do 100 and 200 level before switching to medicine. That implies, when switching, she's joining 200 level in medicine. That's the rule on Unizik. It's not quite difficult but not quite easy too. If she's determined, she will. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Whixdom: 6:57pm On Jul 21 |
Championhala: She can come to Unizik. What are the four courses she wrote in jamb and their waec grades? |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Championhala: 7:10pm On Jul 21 |
Whixdom:she wrote eng, bio,chem and phy in jamb English - C4 Mathematics - A1 Physics - A1 Chemistry - C4 Biology - C4 |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Whixdom: 7:34am On Jul 22 |
Championhala: According to the format Unizik used to admit for 2023/2024, her aggregate score will be 294. It's not bad. It's still very much okay to. get her medicine. At least the quota was recently increased to 200. |

What advice would you give a medical aspirant who scored 287 and 16.4 olevel. She is from ondo state attempting to apply for Unilag but is scared due to her not very strong olevel result. What university can she apply for medicine |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Whixdom: 7:07pm On Jul 24 |
Championhala:For Medicine department in Unizik, this session, the cutoff mark was 315. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by PinkNature(m): 7:38pm On Jul 24 |
EINSTEINUCHE: Try Delsu |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Zico5(m): 9:42pm On Jul 24 |
EINSTEINUCHE:It's better to abort mission on medicine. 287 score is just too low for medicine in Unilag. Let her pick Radiography or physiotherapy. Then she should target nothing less than 23 in post utme. That's my candid advice. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by NL1960: 10:15pm On Jul 24 |
EINSTEINUCHE: Unilag will be tough for her even though Ondo is in Unilag catchment area. JAMB score not high enough. Her total before PUTME IS 52.275. If we assume an Ondo catchment cut-off mark of 82. It means she needs to score 30/30 in the PUTME. Do not know if Unilag has implemented the doubling of Medicine quota by the government. If Unilag has done it, it might reduce the cut-off. 1 Like |

Good afternoon. I finished with a first class in Biochemistry. I applied for direct entry with an 0'level of A1 and 4 B2... Please which school is preferable between unilag and unijos? I am considering unilag because of its proximity while unijos because I think it should be less competitive... Your advice will go a long way. Thank You |

Doceinstein: Unilorin? Slow Academic Calendar?? I laugh in Speedboat. I'm a 300 level Medical student of Unilorin. The 2023/2024 Aspirants haven't been Admitted yet because Unilorin wants to combine 2023 + 2024 Aspirants this year. The school just ended a session last week and would start a new Session probably october/Nov or Nov/December. 1 Like |
