Nobody asked him to do anything; he's just cashing in on trends to remain relevant. Christians and Muslims are adults. If they think the religion is impotent, they will dump it.

There's a news story on the front page saying that Igbo youths are dumping Christianity and returning to idol worship. That's exactly what happens when people think that foreign religion is totally ineffective.

Pastor Jeremiah is using a physical weapon to prosecute spiritual matters...

This case is so simple. VDM doesn't believe the products he sells to his congregation are working....he could have responded with some of the testimonies by those who used the products and even invited VDM to his church and demonstrate the power of his God through his products in front of VDM ...THis will even make the gospel of god goes further than the method he is using presently .... because to those who are observing the situation, they will conclude that the products doesn't work as propounded.....by the prophet ....

In the book of 2 Kings 17 and 18 ..... Prophet Elijah used the opportunity and platform set by King Ahab to demonstrate the power of god and shame the worshippers of Baal...I don't believe VDM is a Christian but this can be a good opportunity for him to bow to the god of prophet Jeremiah instead of the man of god using legal instruments as some of those businesses have done to him in the past ....Thereby, people calling prophet Jeremiah a businessman instead of a man of god

Nobody is being deceived. His members know exactly what they are doing and even social media will not sway them. A lot of times people tend to stick where they can get hope. Because minus that hope that pastors and prophets give (fake or original) a lot of persons would have been dead by now.

He should be allowed to sell his goods in peace. Let those that buy it decide for themselves if it works or not. Afterall he is not putting gun to anybody head to buy

His own branch is to pretend to be pastor to distract the real church, they are the group with "power" "signs" "money"

Jeremiah's backup is his wife. She's spiritually powerful. Anyday he leaves her for any reason he'll become wretched, and he knows this.
Her powers though, isn't from God

Quest7777:
Lets get this clear:

-Prophet Fufeyin manufactures soap,
-sends the soap to NAFDAC for certification,
-NAFDAC certifies the soap based on the listed ingredients, that it is safe for use by Nigerians,
-Fufeyin prays over the soap and presumably impacts healing powers into the soap,
-Fufeyin puts up the soap for sale,
-Nigerians who believe Fufeyin has impacted healing powers into the soap buy the soap.

-VDM calls out Fufeyin as a Scammer
-Fufeyin sues him to court for spoiling business for him, restraining him from further speaking against the miracle soap.

My opinion:
*Nafdac only certified the soap as ordinary soap not as miracle soap so Nafdac has nothing to answer

*Court can not convict Fufeyin as a Scammer. I have never seen any pastor jailed on account of failed religious belief or prophecy.
Also it will mean all these pastors who sell Olive Oil as Anointing Oil would have been convicted.

*VDM should be careful. He stands the risk of being convicted for Defamation, cyberbullying or some other criminal charges.

For me, you described it.
He already has a cyberbullying case ongoing and very likely would get convicted. Deji Adeyanju acting as his lawyer may be overrating himself, as he only recently graduated from law school.

I am equally of the opinion that if VDM is not careful, he will overstep his bounds in the name of activism and get a good prison term. Let’s also watch how he plans to overcome this defamation charge along with his arrogance.

Going by your skewed opinion, VDM is then right cause he bought the products and they didn't work
The product is said to work with a mix of faith. Can vdm prove he applied the faith?

Most of you don't understand law, go and read consumer protection acts of Nigeria law. Especially the part that deal with" Implied duty of quality and suitability"
People pay for products and if it is not suitable for that purpose, then the pastor has broken the law. The onus is on the pastor to prove the water can cure and I doubt that one.

Oga your analysis is totally wrong..How can Nafdac approved a soap for a particular function, while the product is advertised that.it performed another function without any clear evidence..It is Like approving a Malaria drug by Nafdac that it cures malaria,u now marketed it that it cures anti-biotics. if truly that it will cure what he claims that d soap is curing at the court of law, he will be vindicated.I see that u want to use intimidation on VDM.Except court wants to compromise this case,I see VDM scoring 100-0 in this case..That Pastor will be disgraced

Lol
That's where you get it wrong
All of them find a section of the Bible for what they do. Whether it is right or wrong.

Did the Bible describe the exact oil Saul and David were anointed with? Who said it was olive oil? How sure are you it wasn't groundnut oil?
The ordinary handkerchief taken from Paul to heal many should also be classified as fraud. Afterall it was an ordinary handkerchief
The rod of Moses, do you know if it was just ordinary wood?
So according to pastors, a ground nut oil that is prayed over by a true prophet is no longer ordinary. angry
It's now left for the church goers to decide if they are following a true prophet

And in the law of live and let live, it's best to leave them alone
you are one of them, wickedness and deceit is inherent in you, did Paul or those apostles or jesus sell those items or make machandise of them, continue supporting evil, that same evil will consume you, ewu!

In the law has no jurisdiction over matter termed "spiritual " aa long as there are no physical harm. Let any lawyer prove me wrong on this

So if the man say you have to pray and fast for 30 days in faith for the product to work, the law will still not condemn him. And to prove you actually fasted for the 30days is another thing the law will not be able to prove

All he needs to tell the court that his products only works when you fast for 30days without food and with adequate faith. That's the end of the case

The law doesn't work in Nigeria but there are several acts and sections that can be used to comvict him. The UK and the US has used similar laws to fine religious organisations huge amounts of money

We are talking of the selling of a physical product with false labeling. So, yes, evidence of the claim made is necessary! And it is well withing the jurisdiction of the courts to obtain that evidence. undecided

The Issue is the man said the product (anointing water and whatever he sells) have NAFDAC number and VDM asked him to show the ingredients. I think that's what triggered prophet Funfeyin to sue for defamation. So when did NAFDAC start registering anointing water and other spiritual products?
