The only thing that children in Almajiri schools learn is the Quran. Nigeria does not need 15 million islamic preachers. If the North wants to continue rejecting western education despite its many proven benefits it can do so. We normally cook statistics in order to get grants from international donors. I can bet it, the total number of out of school children in SW can not reach 1%. What are they doing at home, even the poorest of the poor strive to enrol their children in private school.

Even in our villages and farm settlements, you hardly see children playing around during the school hours.
No matter how poor our parents especially our mothers, they will do everything in their capacity to send you to at least secondary school.
