They will call them strategic investors. The company Oando will just issue more shares to them, but it will not be too high to make Wale lose control. They don't have to reduce the shareholdings of current shareholders in order to do that. In fact, Wale himself and a few other executives can provide the money or arrange with a lender. All they would need is authorization at AGM.

Is it not possible. That was what I meant by special placement. And I expected it to come from Tinubu family so that they will still have full grip. Then again if they decide so they may want to take the company full private to take all the profits

What you don't know is that Wale will be among the strategic investors.

Insiders and retail investors are playing different games.

Profit after tax can be misleading, try to dig deeper for the company's owners earnings.

Read my post well.
I have already said it in my post that Wale and a few executives may provide the funds. And it is now a new thing. It happens in most companies. when they are cash strapped.

But it does not mean they will reduce the number of shares that you have, though the relative percentage holdings may change if they do not do a rights issue to raise the additional capital

Oando had done several capital raising by offer for subscription/rights issue, private placement etc in the past. They did not go private even though the Tinubu family could have bought all the shares at those times if they wanted to.

The Tinubu family has always been in existence; they did not just arrive from nowhere in 2024!

@all. Let's talk about the merger arrangement between the Dangote children: DS/NASCON/DF. I have some reservations about it. Will the previous scheme of merger/allotment still hold taking into consideration that the financials of all the companies involved has changed drastically compared with that of last year when the deal was consumated? Or will they start a new merger talk based on the current financials at the appropriate time?

Probably Wale is now a born again, his interest and benefits will always supercede that of retail investors .

They did not go private because some shareholders stopped them but not that they did not try.going..And that possibility is still thr in the future but it won't be at cheap cost to other shareholders. And Tinubu family did not start oando. They only took control over it via all means legal and illegal. The big concern if they decicide to recapitalize from thr personal money. We should pray they don't become too greedy to want all the profits too.I don't trust anything associated with that name.I hope it never gets to that point from expected results.

The scheme and ratio will be reviewed.
Whether it will change or not will depend on current realities on resumption of merger talks... wink

Oando took local dollar loans that are expensively priced. After the ongoing acquisition by Oando is completed, their output and turnover is going to double which will take their earnings to $2 billion.
They will issue bonds by that can bring down their interest expenses alongside CPs to replace bank short term loans to further reduce their interest expenses.

Chai, for those playing this O and O mind game/what they really want....they will be reading nsempa and be sharpening their strategy.
Anyways, somethings happen when the time is right....
Is this the right opportunity and right time for the real owners of O and O to strike?
Again only time shall tell cool

Too bad some of us have been investing for over 15 years, but we just focus on profit after tax.

Earnings can be legally manipulated, if you dig deeper you can identify this

Better to use Owners earnings, as Warren Buffett calls it

No one should be scared even if Oando wants to delist. The least that they will have to pay to each shareholder is N49 per share if they decide to delist within the next 6 months.. And if they deliver good results by that time, the price may even go higher than that.

The con I hear from those flagging it is, delisting card may be off the table, that Wale can play other cards around cash injection if he wants to remain extremely greedy and squeeze out common shareholders shocked. Time will tell grin.

It depends on your strategy tiring down your money for long while hoping to get N49.when there's other stocks you can play and make better money, without taking risk.

How did you arrive at the N49 valuation.

The only valuable thing is the company's goodwill and brand name, every other thing na korofo or shell.

The company is working for the banks and can't even meet up

Anyway, negative this, negative that. Will Oando be pumping 50,000 barrels of black gold daily into the sea, and not into the market? Will it be generating massive darkness from power plants, instead of light?

They will be doing it for the banks who technically own the company at its current state

The real owners will never go empty handed!
Unfortunately, the suckers may be ordinary shareholders/naija people who innocently invested with good intentions yet the regulators/government has always failed them - see nnpc spends billions every year but no benefits comes to naija people who actually owns the so called nnpcl and it's subsidiaries!!
It's better to be a trader in companies like this one....at least for now!!! cool

Predict UBA capital raise will not be less than N25 whenever it comes. That dividend will not go less than N2.80 but will likely go up.

For turnarounds like Oando there are no firm (80% accuracy) predictions. High risk - High rewards. For those who entered earlier they currently have less risk with high rewards grin
