As this is Nigeria, I understand her joy. But this is still somehow. Even if she administered a thousand injections, a simple autopsy should determine what killed the child. We have a long way to go in this country.

You're right But an autopsy doesn't even need to be done. Experts can look at a dead body and determine what time they died. Then they have to look at the time the injection would have been administered and see if there are consistencies. It's not hard sha, but in Nigeria everything is twisted.

A simple postnatal lesson, you don't give a sick baby immunization, feverish condition is enough to disqualify the child, probably the child had been sick for sometime, what was the mother thinking?, Does she think that the immunization is a magic punch that will wake the baby up.

I had a similar experience several years ago, which ultimately resulted in the adoption of a new protocol at my institution to safeguard doctors.

God really saved her and I'm so glad for her.

Not in anyway s wicked mother, but a woman desperate to see her child live. Even if the child stopped breathing in her mum’s hands, she still had some hope that something could be done. It was a very sad and painful situation. The nurse also had reason to celebrate in the sad situation.

In all, an autopsy would have exonerated the nurse.

These things happen all over the world.

Work on your comprehension man! She isn't thanking God that the baby is dead, but rather that she didn't immunize a dead baby which could have led to her being blamed for the child's death, and subsequently jeopardizing her career and freedom.

In as much as the circumstances here may warrant such reaction, I need to say here that IF it were to be a saner clime where things work as it should, NOTHING would have happened to the nurse even if she had injected the dead baby!

So what I mean is that a proper diagnosis and autopsy can actually determine:
*TIME OF DEATH
*CAUSE OF DEATH
*TYPE AND CONTENT OF INJECTION ADMINISTERED
And any other useful information. The injection from the nurse from immunization cannot just kill a baby like that!

But then again, we live in a zoo where all these stated above would not be duly carried out but the fallacy of hasty generalization and conclusion would be the downfall of the nurse!

Imagine a woman brought a dead child to the clinic ! No just imagine. She was looking for someone to blame for the death of the child. A test should be conducted to know what time that child died. If hours ago, she should be killed immediately
