@Op. You and your wife are the ones with the main job to do and not the school. How can you and your wife speak yoruba and expect the young child to speak phonetics? At 4 years, she is still so young and is observing her environment as children learn by imitating others. Please, you and your wife should speak good English to her and teach her to respond in like manner. She can still change, but the earlier, the better.

Start making her watch only foreign films and movies even kiddie shows. She will learn to understand and pronounce English words better faster than most her age

On no account should you allow your kids watch nollywood stuffs those their shows usually reduce the IQ of budding kids who are to survive in our future. DON'T HANDICAP THEIR FUTURES

also teach them their mother tongue in between their oyibo shows so as to make them get accosted to it. Pidgin is what they will unconsciously learn themselves

You are not wrong for speaking Yoruba to her. Neither is your wife. From what you typed, your problem is her accent. Not that her English is bad. You said she doesn't speak like "oyibo". So the poor girl speaks well, but you want her to speak through her nose. Many people you see who speak that way learned it. There are teachers for that and they are different from English teachers. Not every school has them and I don't see why it should be a bother to you.
