Changing one's view or perception on issues is normal sir. Even on this thread we have seen people changed their perceptions on certain things and begin to see things differently.

Dangote refinery will be a game changer if allowed to run.

I'm not sure you know who that individual is and how much of a big deal that is, it carries the same magnitude as you coming out tomorrow to call Buhari a wicked, nepotistic Fraud who spent 8 years destroying this country with his cronies whilst acting as a perfect model for the deaf-mute community.

Nope sir. He was of the view that Dangote refinery was a political tool and the like and he has seen the reality and he has changed that view.

I was of the view that Nigeria Air was gonna work. I would really would have wanted it to work but seeing the reality it was a fraud.

lolz.

U choose to believe Nigeria Air was real even every evidence suggests otherwise . A supposed national carrier that was only a national carrier on a PowerPoint slide and on on a fez cap.

The truth is u chose to believe the duplicitous Hadi Sirika because of ur support for anything Buhari. U saw Nigeria Air as Buhari’s pet project instead of seeing it as a money laundering venture it obviously was.

I followed the news on all channels and I was quick to spot the lies since June last year. I really wanted it to work. I even called for the minister to be probed

Na don't think so it will be off brand to be BFFing some you claim to despise (at least in public) with your whole being but hey I've seen stranger things in Nigerian politics. Who woulda thought Bwala who nearly called Tinubu anti-christ because of muslim-muslim ticket would now be hailing him as the next best thing after the discovery of fire not even six months after the presidential tribunal's verdict.

Reno omokri and fani Kayode said even worse things about Tinubu. Then you have people who have used federal power to harass Tinubu like fayose or Koro.

These guys are just posturing.

Is it not atiku who had a fraud case that kept him out of the US for over 10 years who was giving shout out to Hundeyin?

How Obj talk am, feed him and he will sing for you.

Here is how I see Hundeyin:

I think he started off as a good investigative journalist who had good intentions and got a lot of stuff right. He was able to unravel some stories that were shrouded in secrecy and all.

However , he later realized the truth don’t really pay bills in this country . So I believe he became a sell-sword . He still does his investigative journalism but it’s now money-motivated . Even as a sell-sword that he is now, he still gets most of his stuff right. It’s just bias will always shine through his work like we are seeing now

Exactly, he still gets most of his stuffs right. He said Dangote Refinery was not complete and truly it's still not; PMS that is of concern to the average Nigerian consumer is still not being produced.

Another thing is, it's possible to on one hand say the refinery won't benefit the average Nigerian because it's a monopolist that would fork the country over with prices like he's historically done, and on the other hand realize the geopolitical importance of the refinery. The energy industry is the backbone of industrialization, and it's one of the easiest ways for foreign powers to control smaller nations...Nigeria having production and refining on lock gives us some immunity in that sense. God forbid Nigeria gets into a war tomorrow, that refinery could be the difference between success and failure...geopolitically, the refinery is important.

Those gotchas that are being peddled now are there mainly because David Hundeyin does not know where to draw the line between the agenda he's pushing per time, and the professionalism required to stick to facts, which is why he always give that conspiracy theorist vibe. It's also possible his release clause has been triggered sha, cause the effort he's putting into defending Dangote seems a bit much, and unlike him.

The bolded is what I think too. Sometimes he just goes off tangent with his conspiracy theories and leaves room for people to rubbish his good stuff .

As regards his release clause being triggered, I won’t be surprised if that has happened. The guy was requesting for funds sometimes ago; it’s most likely the funds came through but with a price .

Saturday PUNCH gathered that Zhongshan might have rejected all settlement discussions on reasonable terms proposed by the Ogun State Government due to the alleged assault on its officials.

Zhongshan, in its statement of claim to the French court, said members of its management team in Nigeria were physically harmed after being threatened.

It alleged that the Ogun State Government used the police to assault, threaten, and unlawfully detain its workers after the government revoked its export processing zone management contract.

The company claimed that its personnel, including the Chief Financial Officer of Zhongfu Nigeria Ltd. (a subsidiary of Zhongshan), Mr Wenxiao Zhao, suffered verbal and physical assault by the police, acting on orders from the state government.

In its statement of claim through its solicitors, Withers LLP and Radix Legal & Consulting Limited, Zhongshan claimed it lost $1.078bn following the termination of the contract.

The company stated, “The draconian actions of the Nigerian authorities included the Secretary to the Ogun State Government (Taiwo Adeoluwa) directly threatening Zhongfu Nigeria’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Jianxin Han, to leave peacefully when there is an opportunity to do so, and avoid forceful removal, complications, and possible prosecution.

“As if this treatment were not appalling enough, the Nigerian authorities followed through on their threats of physical harm to the claimant’s management team in Nigeria. The police arrested the Chief Financial Officer of Zhongfu Nigeria, Mr Wenxiao Zhao, detained him without basis or explanation in terrible conditions, and physically beat him on two occasions before releasing him—without any charge—after a week in two jails.”

Recounting his ordeal in police custody, Zhao said, “One police officer in uniform came over to me and slapped me twice on the face. Then the police officers who brought me there took me to a room where they asked me to sign a piece of paper
.

If this is true, they should use Ibimes solution. Pay Zhongshan and back the money out of ogun state faac. Like what sort of thuggish behaviour is this?

$75m @ N1500/1$ = N112.5bn ( the amount awarded against FG in the court )

Ogun state got N19.6bn from the FAAC allocation in the month of June 2024.

How will FG be able to net off N112.5bn out of paltry N19.6bn that accrues to Ogun state at the end of each month ?

The Chinese company got an arbitration ruling in their Favour in 2019. Buhari was the president then and they most likely understand Nigeria was broke going by how we’ve been borrowing funds from China and various international bodies .

I believe our recent profligacy is the reason they decided to move against us and enforce the arbitration ruling in a law court .

Look at it this way; if someone owning u money claims he’s broke and u see signs of him being broke ; u will bear with him and be patient to see his fortune turn around before pushing for ur repayment . However if such person suddenly buys a building in Lekki and paid Sunny Ade to perform at the house warning ; will u continue to keep calm ?

I believe the purchase of the new presidential jet and how we’ve been paying law makers ridiculous salaries in the face of austerity made them push to enforce the arbitration ruling in court . The fact that the new presidential jet was targeted says a lot.

Those people read Nigerian newspaper, they have analysts that aggregate and analyze data from Nigerian media space too.
